IMO, the use of 'the fandom' has been a bit all encompassing lately.
Just in the last few days there has been.....
The fandom knows about rigged voting so shouldn't be participating in it.....
The fandom knows that the AT&T scandal is real because that women wrote a book about it....
Now we have... the fandom is responsible for Saara moving into the finale on X Factor UK...
As part of 'The Fandom' ...... I ask that we please stop using the term this way.
As part of the fandom, I do not believe and have never believed any of those things.
I have never believed Adam was runner up on Idol because of any underhanded AT&T manipulation. And that book and the person who wrote it........ ummmm..... sorry but SHE CRAY! And if fans couldn't get Adam the win back in 2009 how could fans have so much pull in the UK. There is no way the numbers voting from outside the U.K. are that large.

Gelly @14gelly "Dude. His range. So insane." WOW! The discussion about Adam's success... As I've stated in my very first post I think Adam is VERY successful. He's busy, in high demand, he can pick projects he really likes, he can bring his friends along with him, involve them, he gets rave reviews for whatever he does. Yes I too feel he is legendary (not to misuse the word), painfully overlooked. I do get that. No he is no Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Selina Gomez...I don't think he's "too old" for pop but I do think he's "too old" for this intense "Teen Idol" thing. I want to point out that being a "underdog" enables Adam to still move about relatively free without being haunted by a mop of people and paparazzi which I think is a HUGE quality to him, especially when he wants to re energize. P.S.: For anybody bored on here or Adam-deprived I can only suggest you do yourself a favour and watch the Bangkok Concert with Queen of this year on riddle601b' channel. The videos are AWSOME and the audio is to DIE for!

Saara said she wanted to sing a big theatrical number with Adam. If Adam sings with her his hits were GT, WWFM and IIHY but I don't they they would qualify as big and theatrical. It would be hard to ask her to give up her big moment to do one of his other songs that are unknown, tho, it is possible. Some other cover would be of some other artist that he has no association with. So I would rather see them do a Queen song because he is associated with them as their frontman. Good extra publicity and it represents a part of his career, imo. But I will take and be happy with Adam singing anything on UK television to be honest.
So glad that article about Saara was about Finish fans. I doubt it would have made much of a difference with the outcome. Simon wanted her in the finals and she was going to get there anyway. I think they should not have put it out there before the final vote tho. It puts a negative spotlight on her before the final vote but that may be the purpose anyway.

I think we've figured out over the years that "the fandom" who vote for everything, buy everything, etc is about 500 strong. Able to sway a lot of things but not move mountains. Many other fans, I'll count myself among them, vote occasionally on maybe two polls a year, will play spotify or youtube (but probably not both) songs for about a month and then forget about it until the next album comes out, can't go to every concert but might drive 600 miles to see him one time on a tour, have never bought a magazine for the cover. So I agree, fans or "the fandom" are very diverse. Save

I'd love Adam to sing a song that really showcased his voice.....don't care what song really. I think it's the vocal ability that will grab the audience attention and stay in the memory long after the choice of song is forgotten. And yes, Adam doesn't have any solo songs associated with him in the UK so that widens his choice In my opinion. Who Wants to Live Forever would be a show stopper - especially as Saara has a wonderful voice as well. And Wembley Arena is huge and echoing...

I want to see Adam and Saara do a big belting number by Whitney or Aretha. Maybe "I Will Always Love You" or "Chain Of Fools". Think I would be disapointed hearing someone else sing a Queen belter with Adam after hearing him sing them by himself so many times - it could never be as good as Adam by himself and especially without Brian on guitar. And I want to hear Adam singing other big belters he has not done before.

a little throwback I came across on a different board just now - from Nov. 25, 2015, Interview with Absolute Radio (UK) - one of those "best ever" www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7fypnElN1Q

While I'm sure Adam would slay on I Will Always Love You, I think I'd be happy to never hear another cover of that overused song! Chain of Fools would be something different. I haven't listened to Saara so I don't know what would work best for her voice.
