I don't think anybody thinks that Adam should imitate Freddie, and nobody wants that including Adam himself. The question is how to be inspired by what Freddie tried to express and translate that into something relevant for today, right for Queen, and right for Adam too.

I am glad that Adam does not dress like Freddie. But I think it is okay to prefer some looks over others. I hated the lace and the big hat outfit and shorts were not my favorites. The lace might have worked on someone much thinner but I love Adam's build as it is. Loved the fringe outfit only from the Asian tour. But the earlier Queen tours were the best outfits to me. He looked hot and very rock star. I won't pretend to know which outfits are more Adam as he wore them all. But I do know the ones I liked the best and that is okay. Adam will not hear or listen to any of us anyway. I am with you on so many points you bring up... -for sure not like Freddie, Adam has in most cases done a great job at "camp" Adam style, and "rocker" -okay to have favorites or preferences -Adam is not reading or listening to our preferences --- ---but I am still sharing what I loved about some of his love outfits... I like it when he combines white, red, or color with his black, as I think it gives "life" to the look on stage and the performance. It makes him visually easier to see on stage as well. To have a look(s) each concert such as the palm tree jacket provides a contrast/punch. I hope the white leather , mesh cut out top from Mykonos might have a place in the Queen tour or his own upcoming tour(s). I can see that top with the Blondes jeans/trimmed with fewer feathers. Not that they are a true fav...just that he liked them, and Blondes' items make it to Adam's concert wardrobe. I prefer tighter on bottom, looser on top. (Straight cut sleeveless black scrolly shirt from the ErikaJane night in Mykonos, versus the stretch lace concept. Preferences. Haha!) ---so there you have it...styling by stampsgal

Love your post!! We all need to remember that outfits & for that matter songs/vocals are different in person. On a small You Tube screen, maybe something doesn't work. But in a huge arena, different story! I loved his TOH outfits and many people did not. I also love that Adam dares to be fashion forward. I would never criticize his choices, but i do have favorites. I think you're right. I've probably been watching every video from the Asian tour through my memories... The Tel Aviv show was so perfect, people were floored by his vocals and charm. Everyone was in euphoria leaving the park when it was over. And one more thing - artists usually try very hard when it comes to clothes. It's very hard to wow us, the audience, anymore. But Adam did that with the lace tank top, and in a good way.I think Adam's fans are often more critical of him than anyone else would be, for the same reason we're most critical of the people closest to us, like our families. We tend to think their behavior and clothes would somehow project on us... I think the lace top was pretty cute, and sexy, but I didn't like it paired with those baggy trousers. Enough already...it doesn't really matter what my personal preferences are compared to the overall audience impression in a large arena - and it seems that some outfits looked better as a stage outfit than they looked on some pictures. That's good to know, as I wasn't at any of the arena concerts.

I love everything he wears, sings, says, but most of all I love when he shares his real life with us. We are so fortunate to have him in our lives. I love reading all you glams' impressions of everything Adam does and wears. I would not criticize any of you or your impressions and ideas. I love all of you for who you are. I love Adam for who he is and take nothing he wears, says, or does very seriously. I don't want to miss one moment of his life and my age scares me because I don't think I will live long enough to see and hear everything that happens to him. I hope I have lots more years to be a glambert. That is the only criticism I have about our Adam. He is so much younger than I am.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned the audience impression in a large arena...that's probably true for costuming, makeup, and certain "moves" Adam makes during songs. To look at the GIFS and clips people post one would think half the snow is composed of, ahem, thrusting etc.! When in the big scheme of things it's probably a few seconds here and there!

So, "Drop the Mic" is James Corden's new TV show, premiering this year. Shosh liked an IG of the Ex Producer today. Filming the first episode today! Adam, maybe? 4 celebrities on each show.

I think Adam has a very difficult balance to create when he selects his QAL Tour costumes -- he wants to remain a current pop artist and yet he is fronting a classic rock band in a very high profile role. I actually think in total, he has done a great job of not replicating Freddie, but honoring his flamboyance and abandon, while remaining 110% Adam. In any case, I am looking forward to seeing what he decides to wear this tour -- perhaps we will get silver and black? *** We all have our favorite and least favorite Adam outfits. My least favorite clothing items he has worn on stage are from Adam's solo concerts: Morongo concert (a great concert) 7/18/15 -- the light-up shirt. I do not think it ever reappeared. Freshtaval (not a great concert, not great sound, in the afternoon -- it was a relatively small crowd at a poorly promoted radio concert) 5/27/12 the spiky shorts. Not quite aqua boardshorts but pretty close. I do not believe these ever reappeared again. And, no, there are no spikes on the back. Here they are in motion.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXmeGnS1UWUOh, NO ! I was there at Morongo that night, and when he opened up his jacket to reveal his lit up chest during GT, there was a hush from the audience I'll never forget ! Pure magic!!! That was the night my husband exclaimed {too loudly, lol} "He's all lit up !" {As if we hadn't noticed!] Adam looked especially gorgeous all dressed in white and his shirt set a mysterious tone for that rainy night in the desert. The shirt was perfect for that night and I don't think it was ever intended to be a "repeat outfit." The man knows how to make a statement and bring his songs to life on stage. He's been thrilling to watch ever since I first noticed him on AI.
