Well tonight's snaps are rather depressing... Just finished watching another Feud episode... says a lot about the movie industry and fleeting fame especially for older women stars in this case Crawford and Davis.A good peak behind the make believe Hollywood world of glitter

Paso Robles was a fun concert. Adam had just announced, a week previously, that he'd left RCA. He gave a lovely speech here about how much his OGs meant to him. It was also my first front row seat! (Except for the horrible, almost ruined the songs, backup singing of Brian London.)

28th March 2017www.queenonline.com/en/news-archive/press-release-queen-in-3-d-a-stereoscopic-masterpiece-capturing-the-history-of-queen/Press Release: Queen in 3-D - A Stereoscopic Masterpiece capturing The History of Queen""....Published as a lavish, high quality bedside table book by Brian’s own ‘London Stereoscopic Company’, Queen in 3-D reveals the band through May’s eyes throughout the band’s history. The book is illustrated with around 360 photographs, mostly viewable in stereoscopic splendour (stereoscopy being the legitimate parent of ‘Virtual Reality’) using the OWL viewer supplied. In addition to capturing scenes himself, on occasions Brian would loan his camera to friends or local photographers, so that he too could be framed on his journey. Brian narrates the stories behind each of his photographs through a lively, engaging prose. Often he is light and conversational in tone, but at other times he can be intensely reflective and philosophical, drawing the reader deeper into the image, the time and the space. Most of these recollections about himself and fellow band members Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, Brian shares here for the first time. Some of the pictures were taken on stage; others behind the scenes, including informal shots taken on the road and during leisure time, giving closeup glimpses of the band as never seen before. Freddie, an enigmatic character, fiercely protective of his privacy, usually shied away from being photographed off stage. But he interacted playfully and unselfconsciously with Brian’s camera, and here we catch rare glimpses of this consummate showman as viewed by his band mate and close friend. Current fans of the band will also enjoy the modern sections, including on and off stage moments with Adam Lambert."... "Other Brian May and Queen activity: Queen + Adam Lambert begin a 26 date North American tour on 23rd June this year in Phoenix, Arizona. The tour includes two concerts at the famed Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles (June 26, 27) and concludes on 5th August in Houston, Texas. The band will debut a brand new show specially designed and created for this outing, bringing fans all their favorite Queen hits, including “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “We Will Rock You”, “We Are The Champions”, “Another One Bites the Dust”, and “Radio Ga Ga”. The high-energy concert will bring their catalogue alive in all its passion and glory. Brian is due to release a stunning new studio album in collaboration with singer Kerry Ellis, entitled Golden Days, on 7th April. The brand new Queen version of the game of Monopoly, which Brian had more than a hand in designing, Will hit shops in mid-April. Players of the game will experience life on the road, following in the footsteps of Queen’s conquest of the world. The decisions they make will determine whether or not they make it in the Music Business ! This game is expected to be one of the Monopoly’s biggest sellers ever. The much anticipated film based on Freddie’s life inside and outside of Queen is finally gathering momentum and a full announcement is expected soon. Brian and Roger will supervise the musical content of the movie."more... (bolding is mine)

This is off today's topic and actually relates to yesterday's discussion of idol contestants that have done well. I just wanted to say because my daughter is a huge huge Daughtry fan, that Chis Daughtry is still doing quite well. He's touring this summer Nickelback , we'll be seeing him in Kansas City two weeks after we see Queen in Kansas City. Although I don't follow him, I have always liked Chris Daughtry. I'm glad he's doing well. It's nice to see some of the Idol alums hook up with another act and be able to put on good shows. I posted on the last thread, but I will say here again, I feel bad for Alisan Porter and her experience with The Voice. The show has not produced any big stars, although I think a few are doing ok. The show is focused primarily on the celebrity judges. I do like Alisan. She has a lovely voice and she's attractive. But I don't see her as bringing anything new or different to the table. I wonder what the "recording contract" from The Voice was supposed to be and why it didn't work out. If I remember right, a few of the later season Idol winners didn't get much that was promised either. I hope Alisan can self-produce her music and get it out there. Seems to me that Kelly, Carrie and Adam are the biggest stars from Idol. Daughtry is doing well. I know some of the contestants do perform and some do tours. P2 was doing fine but is still in litigation with Sony. I wouldn't call him a superstar, though. He's does fine and sometimes performs as a dual act with someone else. Adam is lucky to have an international fan base of his own (even beyond the Queen association). I hope those world-wide fans remain loyal long after the QAL days are over. I assume his US fans will stick by him for the long haul. I sure intend to.
