Q3, Which shows are you going to? I may have to change my plans because life is interfering with my Adaming -- but I have tickets for PHX, Las Vegas, LA both shows, then Chicago, Toronto, Detroit and Cleveland. And that is my plan right now. I hope everything in your life works out so that you can go to all of your planned concerts!!! I'll be at the first 4 and Cleveland also! Then the last 3 US dates and last 8 UK dates. Can't wait!!!

This was the perfect place to post your recap. And it was WONDERFUL!!! I love reading how people discovered Adam. Every story is unique and quite fascinating. I discovered him on a rerun of Idol. I had never ever watched that show and I was surprised there was a rerun, so I said, what the heck and turned it on. And it just so happened that I turned it on when he was singing! I was totally blown away from that moment on and have been a dedicated Glambert since then. Well, that's not exactly true because I have never seen him in person because I can't walk very well so a concert hall has never been a possibility for me. BUT a neighbor gave me a scooter and I just got it up and running so I've purchased tickets to see him with Queen in Philadelphia and in Newark, NJ. I cannot wait! So happy for you!

OK, here you go. Please, keep in mind, I wrote that not knowing, that I would know more about Adam in two years than some consider healthy . I origninally wanted to post it in a Queen-Forum, but I didn't do it, because there were a few Freddie-Fans, that did not really encourage that post (not verbally, but it simply didn't feel right to me.) My first Queen Concert Berlin O2World 4.2.2015 I'm a 35 year old female from Berlin in Germany. Almost two weeks ago I went to my first Queen-Concert and since then I'm absolutely flashed and overwhelmed from that Live-Performance. Before I get to my review of the concert, I just want to tell you my "Queen and Adam Lambert" background: I have not been a Queen-"Fan", but I always liked their music. I loved their hits, that everyone knows from the radio. I also bought their "Greatest Hits" - 3Disc compilation about 10 years ago.I really liked it, but I must confess, that I haven`t listened to it for some years. So, why did I go to the concert? On Christmas Day I switched by chance the channel to the "Helene Fischer Show" on German TV. "Queen and Adam Lambert" were doing two songs there to advertise their upcoming tour. I loved it and ordered my ticket the same evening. Until then I didn't know that Queen was touring with a new frontman. I mean, I knew Freddie Mercury was dead, so I wasn't expecting to be able to see them live at all and haven't followed the remaining band members. So I was really happy to get to see Queen and hear their songs live. As for Adam Lambert: I haven't heard of him at all before. So were most people around me in the O2-World Berlin (My seat was high up in the stands, so no die-hard Queen- or Lambert-Fans). But what I had seen on TV was promising. So, the show began with sounds (that I interpreted as) of a starting formular one car - or rather Brian May's guitar ;-) The curtain went up and everybody was enjoying, clapping and dancing (down on the floor) to "One Vision" and "Stone Cold Crazy". The energy and performance on stage was great, the sound up at the second level ( where I was seated) was awful. Then came "Another One bites the Dust", the first song I knew. I loved it! Very powerful and the videoshow was great. My first highlight was the combination of "The Lap of the Gods"/ "Seven Seas" and especially "Killer Queen". Adam Lambert's performance of that song was so much fun to watch! After that song Adam said hello to us and thanked everyone (esp. Brian, Roger and Freddie) that they give him the opportunity to sing and perform on this stage. He wanted to celebrate Freddies music. To me, this (until then absolutely unknown) singer came across very humble and down to earth. I hadn't thougt so at first, because his movements during thesongs before were sometimes very ,um, exaggerated? (I don't know how to describe that.) I then really loved "Somebody to love" and the first singalong with the audience. Then the new man was gone and the rock-legends took the front. Brian May sang "Love of my Life" with the audience. I got goosebumps, it was wonderful - although I didn't know the song and therefore couldn't sing along. I got the impression that everyone else did - and felt a little out of place ;-) I think it was then that Brian took a selfie with the audience and his comments on that were funnie. Brian then introduced the rest of the band and they sang together '39. It was very interesting to get the rest of the musicians names. I learnt, that Roger has his son playing with them (and it was a super drum-battle between them!!) I must say, that watching these older musicians play and sing was great, but for me it was very apparent, why they alone cannot tour without a new frontman: Brian and Roger with the band are nice to watch and absolutely suberb in their craft (Roger as a drummer, Brian on the guitar), but I started to miss that young man from the beginning of the concert. For me Adam Lambert really has been the "center" of the stage. BUT until then his singing was ok, but hadn't absolutely convinced me. When Adam came back, I thought the soundapartment had fixed it's problems from the beginning somehow. The sound on the second level was much better now and I didn't see anybody putting their fingers into their ears like during the first part of the concert, when Brian's guitar was so loud, that I could barely hear the singers' voices. So everything got even better from now on. My absolute favourite parts of the evening were "Save me" (a song I didn't know before - wonderful!), "Who wants to live forever" (one of my alltime favourites for years! - So wonderful powerful sung with a superb light show)and "The Show must go on". I never got into "Radio Gaga" before, but now live with all that clapping and Laser Show, I simply loved it. Then we got to "Bohemian Rhapsody", and I admired the Queen-Fans who sang during the video-sequence every word fullheartedly. During most of the concert, the music was too loud to hear the singalong. Freddie sang this song at parts in a duett with Adam Lambert, and I felt, that this really fits together. Then came the Encore with "We will rock you" and "We are the champions". Hits , that even a casual Queen-Fan like me can sing by heart. When the gold glitter flew through the O2-World Berlin, I was very happy. It were 2,5 hours of great music and entertainment, that was worth it's money. I especially loved that they played most of their greatest hits, because I had never before the opportunity to hear them live. "The new man", as Brian May called Adam Lambert ,was very well received by the audience. And while listening to other people around me before and after the concert, some where as curious about him as me. Some students right behind me googled his name just before the start of the concert, another couple on the train on the way home. So: Many people in Germany just got to know Adam Lambert -and all I heard, was that everyone loved the concert with him and Queen. Personally I was blown away by his performance of "Who wants to live forever". He has a great voice and is an absolute "Rampensau", as we call it in Germany (entertainer, who loves the spotlight,is cheeky and can grab an audience). All I can say now: I'm listening to Queen AND AdamLambert (solo) songs for the last two weeks now and I absolutely hope, that they will play together many more concerts - so that this first won't be my last Live-Experience of Queen! Thank you to everyone, band and crew, who made this great event come true! (written on Feb. 17th 2015) ... for the great recap, nightowl!
It's always so interesting to read how and when people discovered Adam!

Nightowl......lovely to read your first impressions of Adam! Thank you for posting this. I loved Adam on the Helene Fischer show - their duet of WWTLF was great; she has a very good voice. She also seemed to like and appreciate his talent so she's ok with me! It was really just a coincidence that I saw QAL on the Helene Fischer Show, because I was just zapping through the TV program (It was the repeat of the show after christmas). I don't really watch her shows, so that was really luck. But I also got the impression that she is a Queen-Fan and liked Adam. Nightowl, Thank you very much for your wonderful recap
