I hope Adam is not falling victim to "tattoo addiction" - from my point of view, even if some individual tattoos are meaningful and beautiful, too much of a good thing can be overwhelming and reach the opposite effect. I am mourning those precious freckles too, and I am really scared of him trying to decorate his neck too. The interesting result of body art becoming so widespread is that there are now better and better removal techniques. The new lasers are quite effective. So, while it take time and money, these tattoos are actually no longer permanent. Black is the easiest color to remove. It is not painless but less painful than getting a tattoo. Best news I've heard all day.....

My son has my maiden name....Gorham...as his middle name. I knew I wanted to use it from the get go. His first name, Stuart, is his dad's middle name and his grandmother's maiden name......her father was from Scotland with the last name Stuart. My sons both have my 'maiden name' as their last name. I kept my own name too. It has been a possibility here for 10 years or so, and I like it. I love my family name and the history that goes with it. And my husband didn't really care. There are not many people who do this yet, I guess in some ways tradition is really strong. I think it is great that women have the choice now too to keep the legacy of their name in the family. We will be a genealogists nightmare in the future though Same with me here, I kept my maiden name and my kids are having it too. My husband took my name - he didn't care either

It is still quite popular (at least in my neck of the woods) either to use the mothers maiden name or even the maternal grandmothers maiden name as either a first or middle name. Just depends on if there is a workable last name. Isn't Adam's Mitchel his mothers maiden name? She is Leila Mitchel Lambert -- I believe Mitchel is her maiden name. Mitchel is an uncommon Jewish surname - in most cases an Anglicization of a Spanish Jewish name, Mishlei. I did a lot of research on the surnames - Mitchel and Mitchell when doing our families' trees. My [Jewish] husband's middle name is Mitchell which is an Anglicization of an Eastern European-Russia surname of one of his great grandmothers. My sons have their grandma's maiden name as a middle name. Difficult to spell, one son has his uni graduation certificate permanently inscribed to his own particular version of it....all that education and he couldn't get his name right! We never let him live it down Otherwise, I think it's a lovely idea to keep family names alive.

Adam's new tattoo reminds me of a cathedral's stained glass window- it would be cool if were colored in like one.

He is not the only one, to fluff up a spelling.I cannot even remember what grade I was in when I realized that I was spelling my middle name as LOUIS..instead of LOUIS E. (but well before university ) Guess I never practiced it as a youngster !

Ann those black sleeves are scary! What is the point? Wouldn't a solid black long sleeve t-shirt work the same & it'd be able to be changed to any color he wants! Generally, I like tattoos and have liked pretty much every one Adam has gotten. But these black tattoos are just ugly to me.

I think we like Adam's freckles better then he does as he's doing a great job covering them up......The newest tattoo is beautiful; I'm just not a fan of his side torso tat. Not that it's not beautifully done but it (in my eyes) seems to be initiating an entirely new "theme". It will be interesting to see what he blends into it.....I envy his creative freedom.
