I don't know about Idol for Adam -- I compare judging to taking a gig at a casino in Vegas. You stay in one place cuz you're sick of touring and/or raising kids, or just too old to deal with the grind. Although, I do realize that it has kick started some careers.......I like that it's back only because it gives Adam another avenue to perform on TV. If he wants it, I'll be happy for him. I would love to see them offer it to him and have him turn it down - turn about is fair play j/s Huge difference between being a guest performer and one of the stars of a show that has been a mega hit. Judging will get him speaking parts on late night talk shows, judging will get him name recognition, judging will get him in People and other mags. Judging is huge compared to being in a one night televised play, judging is huge compared to a couple hundred people a night in Vegas. I'm hoping he can do both Idol and the play. Biggest problem is the play takes 1-2 months rehearsals. But if Seacrest can do it with a full time cross country job I'm sure Adam could get two rehearsal days off. If, and it's a big if, the judging stint happens that is HUGE. If he gets the play well that's nice and if he's a lead that's great but it's not HUGE. Save

Now that JHud and Kelly C are both going to The Voice, I feel less inclined to want Adam on Idol. If he wants it and they want him, then he should go for it of course. But the worrier side of me wonders if a redesigned Idol can compete favorably with The Voice at this point. I would hate to see him on Idol and then it get cancelled :(. I would watch if he were on of course, and I don't like The Voice, but I know many who watch it now......

I would think that they would not be on competing nights so I don't think it would be a problem. My gut is that ABC will go with "big names" as judges.

www.yahoo.com/music/voice-poaches-ex-idols-kelly-clarkson-jennifer-hudson-new-coaches-223837677.html; fan favorite Adam Lambert, who ably filled in for judge Keith Urban during the American Idol Season 14 auditions and won last year as a coach on The X Factor Australia, seems like a good bet as well. However, it has not yet been revealed who will join Clarkson, Shelton, and Adam Levine on The Voice Season 14, so at this rate, don’t be surprised if Underwood or Lambert ends up in that mix instead.

If Adam wants to judge I hope he gets a chance. Low ratings or cancellations never stopped him from getting great reviews and tons of publicity. Glee, XFactor Australia, Rocky Horror worked well for him no matter the ratings. Just think if he had passed up those opportunities for fear of ratings. He will be one of several judge so he will not be expected to beat TV, which they will probably fail to no matter who the judges are. Hopefully they will be able to put up respectable numbers tho.

I wanted it for Adam (if he did) before this announcement about Kelly - but now I fear that with TMZ reporting that Idol wanted Kelly but weren't willing to pay her enough; if Adam was on Idol, he may be perceived by some as being a bargain in comparison - I don't like that idea. I hate the Idol comparison bullshit basically.....

And about The Jesus Christ Superstar, IF Adam really wants the role of Judas and IF his schedule allowing him to do, ADAM can ask his management to ask for an audition for that role. I think it will be great for Adam to work with Andrew Llyod Webber. But then again they're gunning for Easter of 2018, it means they have to shoot it on Winter of 2017 thru Jan 2018. Not sure if Adam has the time for it. No "shoot." These are live! Crazy, but true. So, there is A LOT of rehearsal time, mostly that last month before it airs.
