"I don't know why, but calling Adam ,Madam bothers me.... a lot" It does to me too! I bothers me too. Even if some view it as a term of endearment from his friends we know many used it as a slur and for ridicule. This is not fun between friends but being put out there so publicly. I don't get it. i don't see it so much as a term of endearment, but rather an in-your-face battle-cry against all those that don't want him to show his more female side, be it vocally or visually or in any other way. Earlier somebody pointed back to that BTIKM video, where two sides of Adam (the socially amicable, easy-going, laid back Adam and the fiery, aggressive, angry Adam) inhabit the same person, need to live with each other, clearly know each other and understand each other, yet one almost kills the other. There are many other dualities when it comes to Adam, and the male - female one is certainly the most obvious and most talked about one. We have gone through two albums where we mostly saw 'Adam' only, and maybe he is starting to bring 'Madam' back a bit stronger in A4. For those who struggle with this, better get ready, because this is not the first hint we are getting that things are about to change.

I don't think anyone knows. My comment was about the term not about who Adam is or how he plans to present himself. But for me, I did not hear Adam say that term was a battle-cry to show his female side (I probably missed that interview). If it is, fine. I still don't like the term because it reminds me of all the hate and disrespect that was hurled at him early in his career. But if it is good for him, Brian and others that is okay too. Nobody was attacking Brian for using the term but I don't have to enjoy hearing it. Because I don't even if others do.

He proudly let his freak flag free that first album and tour but he may have gotten even more push back then we ever imagined. I just know he really pulled it back a lot over the last few years and two albums but lately, the last 6 months or so at least, he has increasingly seemed to be ready to push the envelop more and more as subduing his usual gender fluidity and visual experimentation did not really translate into increased mainstream 'success'. I suspect we are in for a great ride and I know there are lots of us who will celebrate this...and many who will not. The point is...flamboyant Adam is the NATURAL Adam...it is the toned down, unmadeup, conventional Adam that is unnatural...for him. As superfans, I believe it is up to us to show love and appreciation for the extra-ordinariness that is Madame lambert!! [not 'acceptance'...really?!...that sounds odd doesn't it?] We have seen bits and pieces of Madame over the last few years because we peruse every personal bit of news and pics we can find, but the general public has not. I suspect they may get a few more glimpses of that Original Glam King again....yeah mea culpa...this is easy for me as I am really attracted and intrigued by the gender pushing outfits..one of my favorite is that lace tank and baggy Killer Queen pants....love that!!! And the really muscle bound testosterone fueled macho displays on some men give me icky hives....and shivers. I cannot abide the forced masculinity of sportscasters and ads for manly vehicles...EEEEEWWWWW. Give me that lace tank any day of the week....lol

Craazyforadam I didn't realize the play on the words Adam and Madam until I read your post^^ (which now makes it fun to me)...It didn't to go down unnoticed with me as well but since it came from Brian I like others assume Adam is aware and very well ok with it and tried not to get too hung up on it...and I was the one that mentioned the BTIKM video ...another superficial thing that I noticed about the pap video...he seems to have very little beard and his overall look (what we got to see of face) reminded me of that snap a day or two ago @pattihum Checked at the curb? Didn't know they do that...sounds very convenient^^ #thingsyoulearn

"I don't know why, but calling Adam ,Madam bothers me.... a lot" It does to me too! Gender issues bump up against our learned viewpoints a lot, you know the things we think without thinking we think them. I suggest embracing Adam's and Brian's love for the title - try waking up every morning and saying to yourself, "I wonder what Madam Lambert is up to today. I can't wait to get on Adamtopia to find out." I bet after a week or so it will put a lilt in your step and a smile on your face. : Good point regarding the highlighted part. I think (...and that's what I think I think) that I prefer Adam's masculine side, and images in my head in relation to "Madam Lambert" really mess with that. It may have to do with me wanting that increased mainstream acceptance for him. On the other hand, and in very vague(!) relation to that, I am really enjoying Ru Paul's drag race currently, and I do find some of those queens extremely sexy. I know, I know, Adam tends to show his feminine side in a very different way, and of course he should feel free to express himself etc. etc. but I do have my own preferences about him. Clearly, his masculine side is only one side of him.

Dr Bri was asked in the MOJO mag interview if "Madam Lambert" was okay with Adam. He answered that he had asked Adam and Adam was totally fine with it. I've posted that interview a day or so ago

I find Madam Lambert kind of glam and I rather like it....I also found the lace tank and baggy pants to be one of my favorite outfits....
