I agree with you Patti, it's not a heavily promoted song. I think alot of more causal fans that like his music, the official albums but don't keep up to date on every little thing Adam does in between. I bought Think and gave it a few streams on spotify (logged on with facebook) but I don't have an spotify-account so I don't use it much. It just doesn't make sense for me because I don't listen to alot of different music^^...it just makes more sense to actually buy it. I will make sure I support A4 when it will come. Truthfully I'm just learning about the importance and the politics of streaming numbers and so on on here so... ETA: or what melliemom said *grin*...hey there For the amount I would pay for the spotify account I could easily just keep buying Adams music (*lol*) or go to more concerts Just to reply re spotify...for a long time we could not get spotify in Canada....that was really irritating when every link posted brought up a message that you could not have it in your location...after awhile, honestly, you just want to give the finger. Then for the first bit, it was really difficult...the US version always came up first...bit like Amazon.com...after some use, the CA version comes up so much better...I now we have it and a have it on my computer and set up but I don't have the habit all the time. Working on that..... I do find it turns itself off after a bit...not sure there..but running 24/7 uses power so I close down at night...saving the earth and all that nerdy stuff...

Buying is wonderful, OFC. The thing about "just" buying it, is that after you buy it, that's it! It adds nothing else to the numbers for that song. TOH would not have made #3 w/o streaming. And GT definitely would not have gone Gold here w/o streaming. "Buy, then stream" is really really important! Pattihum..You're right... Is spotify the only real streaming source .. what about amazon,etc.. Need some lessons in this streaming business

@pattihum but doesn't one purchase equal like several hundred streams?...I thought I read this on here once... Yes. But then it's done, over. Streaming adds numbers and $$ continuously. If Adam could sell 5 million songs or albums, OFC, that would be the #1 choice. But since most artists don't sell like Adele does, the streaming numbers become very important. Thing is, iTunes won't let you buy multiples of the same single. So streaming gets around that. 100 streams = 1 single DL I guess, for me, it is such an easy thing to do, i don't get why people don't do it.

Is spotify the only real streaming source .. what about amazon,etc.. Need some lessons in this streaming business Spotify isn't the only streaming source, but it is the most easy one I think. With the smart links for Think there are 4 streaming sources coming up for me: Spotify Apple MusicTidalDeezerThese are clickable and will get you to Think. All of them you can have a payed account, but with Spotify and Deezer you can both log in with FB and stream music without paying them. The quality is a bit less and you will get some advertisements in between. Also streaming 24/7 won't work with a free Spotify account as it shuts down as mszue already mentioned, but you can add a couple of streams each day with it. If all Adam's fans will do a couple per day the numbers should be very nice. There could be other streaming services that work. Each country can have their own, but I'm pretty sure Spotify qualifies for charts in about every country it exists (which isn't in all countries). YouTube also qualifies for charts most of the time, but they count only a couple of views / IP adress. So viewing YT 24/7 has no point.

Thing is, iTunes won't let you buy multiples of the same single. So streaming gets around that. Buying/Downloads doesn't count in every country though. Downloads are not taken into account for the major chart in the Netherlands for instance. Because it could be manipulated (as if streaming can't be manipulated ). So for the chart in the Netherlands it's Airplay, Streaming and Social Media impact. Airplay is something we can't control mostly (only with some polls maybe or thumbs up on the radio pages), but with streaming and social media impact we can help. This will get important again for Era 4. ETA: Spotify gave me the end results of 2015 streaming in their Year end promotion and it told me that I streamed Ghost Town about 37.000 times (don't remember the exact number, but it was something close to that). That means I added 370 downloads for the chart with streaming, instead of just 1 buy from iTunes (which didn't even count for the chart).

I took me a little while to navigate the updated site, but I just added "Think" to my playlist of Adam Favorites (love that song!), while GT remains at the top. It makes sense to keep paying attention to the already popular songs. I agree that using Spotify is an easy and effective way to promote Adam's music, so thanks for the reminder. As far as I know, it doesn't cost anything when using the computer to stream on their website.

so great to learn all this @pattihum and skaschep...Adam is in Queen-college and I'm in Adamtopia-college I thought one DL equaled more streams...and as said I'm only learning of the importance of the streams, so when A4 will come around (patience, patience, patience ) I'll make sure to do my part!

I'm not surprised. It's not a new song. It's a cover. And it's in a kids' movie. IMO, the numbers for Think are no indication of the numbers for era 4. I mean, we have people right here who have said they won't buy it. And others who have said they'll buy it to support, but won't listen. And we are supposed to be the stans! I added it to my Spotify playlist that I stream 24/7. But I know there are still many people NOT using Spotify. Spotify is so easy, IDG why some are so reluctant? Yeah it's not new, but I did expect a little more streams than 9k/ day. If that's from people who stream the song 10 times a day that's only 900 people streaming the song. That's a bit low imo. Today's update seems a little better though, but that could be from the kids who saw the movie in the weekend and are now checking out the soundtrack that is stuck in their mind!
