pssssstttt....Freddie Mercury has been dead for over 25 years. Not only "can" he be replaced, he HAS been replaced. Brilliantly. The end. Now, let's just enjoy QUEEN with the phenomenon that is Adam Lambert.
The "problem" (as I see it)) is that Freddie died. It made him a saint. Has Freddie ever sung a bum note or had an off concert? OFC not! He was "The" perfect frontman. And no one can or ever will be as good as him! Truthfully though, If he was still around, who knows what shape he'd be in or if he'd even be able to sing anymore? Would he still have that voice? Doubt it, as we can witness what has happened to other old rockers' voices. I would guess that even Freddie would be "no Freddie Mercury!" But his death has frozen him in time. There's no way to get around that with the Queenies. They see Freddie of the early 80s in their eyes and minds. There's just no way of getting around that. It is what it is! My main "Issue" here is that, as an Adam Lambert board and with the current Queen band being Roger, Brian, Adam, Spike, Neil, and Tyler, I see no reason for the comparisons of the past. Sometimes, like today, it dominates a whole day's thread. Instead of discussing Adam's new single and the awesomeness that was last night at Hollywood Bowl, we are replying to posts about Freddie. Someone earlier said a Freddie discussion thread would be nice. I agree! IMHO It's disrespectful to Adam's worth by constantly talking about Freddie.. How about discussing just how much Adam puts into his performances with Queen without the constant repetition of who is better freddie or Adam.. Again i'm sure freddie's fans discuss this ,do we have to day after day..There are going to be about 50 Queen and Adam around the world concerts... I'm really hoping we as a fan club for Adam keep him up front and center.. For those folks who want to continue this ,I think a special discussion thread on Adamtopia for Freddie would be GREAT.Fair to all...

Hollywood Bowl QAL Concerts 1 & 2 Recaps I don't have a lot to say, because these concerts left me speechless. Concert #1 was brilliant and took the crowd to a special place! Vocals were unbelievably gorgeous. Adam was on fire! The set was changed a lot but very well done. The robot was cute! HaHa! The crowd loved them But concert #2 was incredibly better. Adam was joyous , beaming happily and bouncing around the stage. His vocals were breathing-taking and somehow even better than day1. He looked so beautiful, fiercely confident and fearless! So fresh and new! I think that by releasing 2 FUX he freed himself in a way that lets him be who he wants to be and do what he wants to do! I love him so much!! What a joy to share this with him.

I've been a Queen fan since the 70s, yet, I get weary of the same old debate--I'm sorry, "insightful discussion"--that attempts to drain the pure joy out of THIS performer and THIS music being celebrated in THIS era. Every. New. Tour. HOW ABOUT THAT ADAM FUCKING LAMBERT, PEEPS?

Patti and many other atoppers who attended already- would be great to have your detailed recaps. Differences among the 4 concerts..... Don't forget most of us here are limited to streams and You Tubes.
It seems HB2 was the best so far, but perhaps I feel this way because the streams were better....

My daughter, granddaughter and her two friends are going to have an orgasmic heart attack when they see Get Down Make Love. I can hardly wait to see their expressions. LOL and I hope my old heart can take it, that man is sexy as sin.
