So that attempt at a post to Talon didn't work out! But here's what I wanted to say to Talon: I had 20 Queen fans sitting behind me at the Philly show and none of them was an Adam fan. They all agreed that George Michael would have been their first choice to replace Freddy. I admired George Michael but, of course, I'm an Adam Lambert fan and he would be MY first choice to replace Freddie. Of course, we all agreed that if G.M. had become the Queen frontman, the band would have lost their frontman for a second time and probably would not have survived that. So, Talon, what's your opinion of how George Michael would have been as a Freddie replacement? Just wondering! It's a funny thing. There are SO many Queen fans who think Queen should have teamed up with George. I'm NOT one of them. I thing George has a great voice. Many fans though are basing this on one performance of Somebody To Love. Now don't get me wrong, it is probably the premier non-Freddie version from the Freddie tribute - so good it became a single, etc. BUT the problem is, (kind of like Adam but even more so) he's just not a natural rock singer. I can't even fathom George trying to sing Stone Cold Crazy or Tie Your Mother Down. I may not love Adam on those tracks but it's doable. I think Adam is a far better choice. SOmetimes Queen fans are stubborn.....(I know! RIGHT!?!? Hard to believe) Other possibilities that were mentioned at one time or another - Robbie Williams. This one was actually considered by B&R at one point and they re-recorded We Are The Champions for a soundtrack. But from what I've heard Roger provided the veto feeling he may not be reliable. (John also wasn't happy with the choice rumor has it - but it's just a rumor) Would have been entertaining...and in someways Robbie would have been a better selection than Adam - he's a bit more rocking, but in other ways he's far worse - the pop ballads, etc. ...And he's a bit arrogant. So that would have worn thing. Overall Adam probably the better choice but RW would have been fun too. Paul was great for part of it. Again not the camp section. He could do the rock but could never pull off Killer Queen or Bicycle Race, etc. so it was a bit limiting. THen again they weren't going for nostaliga...they were actually trying something new and even released a new album which was more in the bluesy rock area. That's why it's hard to compare the overall Adam vs Paul experience. Two very different plans....Song by Song comparisons are easier. But as to who was the better frontman for Queen? Again two different reasons the band have for going on. So too difficult to call. Talon, not to go off on a tangent, but something you said has me wondering. What exactly is John's involvement in decision-making at this stage? Did he have to sign off on Adam, all of these tours, the song selection, etc. How much say does he have and is it a 4-way thing, like exactly 25% per original member? Does Jim Beach make the decisions on behalf of Freddie's estate? Sorry for so many questions. I know John doesn't talk to Brian or Roger but I assume he has an attorney who intervenes on his behalf.

I actually think Roger and Brian have answered that question several times, especially back in 2014-2015. Exactly! No one else had a say. Brian and Roger made their choice and looking at how well they have done with Adam out front, hard to argue with that choice. One of the best vocalists and sexy showmen out there is getting the job done, rocking the stage with Queen and making his presence known. Thankfully with that wise choice, they and the fans are having a blast.

Since I am so amped up that I can't sleep, I wanted to give my brief impressions from tonight's (last night's?- does it still count at 2:45 am the next day?) show in DC. Like I said, I'm a longtime Queen fan and an Adam fan, so tonight was doubly exciting. I had never seen Adam live before tonight, so I'll start with that. OH MY FREAKING GOD. No videos and studio recordings do him justice. I didn't think it was possible to sound like that live, but he did, and he didn't miss a note. In some of the recordings from previous shows I sometimes thought he was a little flat on a few notes- but no. Not freaking really. It was just the bad recording, because everything was incredibly perfect tonight. It shouldn't be possible to do what he does but he did. Count me fully on the Adam train- not that I wasn't on it anyway. I have to say that tonight's Who Wants to Live Forever is probably the best I've heard- and that may be because I was there and it's really different in person, but it made me cry and sounded absolutely perfect. Brian and Roger were also perfect tonight- Brian's incredible solos were right on point, and Roger's vocals were on fire. I'm In Love With My Car sounded incredible. I cried during Love of My Life too, Bohemian Rhapsody, and during both the guitar solo and drum battle. It was a cry and dance fest and I yelled myself hoarse. The crowd looked and sounded good from where we were, and kind of went crazy. I'd like to give more details, but it's late (😆!!!!) and I have to go to work in 3 hours. If there was another show closer to me I would definitely go again. Adam's voice is out of this world. I hope his new music coming out involves more belting it out because OMG. I'll be there for his next tour with bells on. ETA: I still can't sleep. Aw! Beautiful and well said. Wonderful recap. Yes, Adam's voice is special. So happy that you and many other fans so enjoyed the show. And looking at the smiles on Brian and Adam's face, show that they know they are reaching and pleasing the audience and that is what counts. I don't think they care about the he is not as good as Freddie, George, Paul and Marc brigade, lol. The fans are loving them. As the reviewer from the Philly show said, "Adam has nothing to prove." So happy that your first time was a home run and that QAL was everything you thought it would be. I was expecting the show to be very, very good. I knew that Adam had been doing a fantastic job based on the hundreds of videos I've seen. And yet, I'm still in shock at how much better he sounds live. I know he is not Freddie- but he doesn't have to be. In fact, if he tried to sound like Freddie I would be downright insulted. And in my opinion (and I understand it's just my opinion, and others are clearly entitled to have their own), he is the best frontman for Queen in the absence of Freddie. He is Adam, a really talented guy with an exceptional voice and showmanship, and that is all Queen needs right now. He has absolutely nothing to prove because he's already done that and then some. I'm so very happy I got to see this show. So leave the naysayers to their own opinions- they are missing out on an exceptional tribute.

Adam is the perfect choice as stated many times by Brian and Roger. Case closed!

I would like to proffer my sincere gratitude to EVERYONEONE here for providing all the great information, recaps, and videos which are posted and shared with all of us! I seldom post, but I am here every single day reading everything. I marvel that we live in a world that allows us to watch HD videos on our smart TVs of a concert happening far away.
Special thanks to Talon for all he contributes to this site.....I love getting the history of the band and its music. It prompted me to look deeper into Queen, read biographies, and understand even more the importance of what I am seeing. They are master class artists still and it is an honor to watch them perform.
And Cassie, I totally agree with your post regarding Adam's "I'm no Freddie" speech. I like it just fine, and I feel it goes a long way towards mitigating any ill feelings toward him that some may harbor. To me, that is his deadly 'CHARMICIDE" that is so engaging. To some of us, it may seem redundant, but there are many fans attending these shows for the first time who know nothing about him. However, I don't give a darn if there are some Queen fans who don't like him.
I'm so proud of Adam; he is so talented! He has done something exceedingly difficult, something many others have attempted and failed. I would love to see this acknowledged by more people in the business. These concerts have been a wonderful experience for all of us.

Thanks for this and all of the other suggestions guys! I posted on twitter with adam_tickets, also sent message to FunknSoul and checked all of the reseller sites. I did bid (less than half of asking lol) on some through Flash for row 2 of the B section (center end of thrust) - I'm very attached to being at the end of the thrust this time, but they want $680 each on Flash for those - and not even the front row but 2nd row, also could be on end of row since they won't guarantee seat number (and of course we have no idea what the seat numbers are there) - so frustrating! That same row 2 (up to 12 seats) in B section is offered on many different resellers - how do they get away with that??? There were a couple available for row 15 on the floor earlier today on the main site but I let them go - they were a pretty good deal too.
