Comments left on the not so flattering review yesterday from DC.. It might have been better to just ignore the review/reviewer and say nothing. But everyone has the right to express themselves. I wouldn't waste my time and really just #Don'tGiveTwoFux.
Comments:
Jane • 12 hours ago As soon as I read your first sentence insultingly referring to the original band members Brian and Roger, as well as the rest of the hard working professional musicians and crew, as a "tribute band" I knew this was going to be an immature sulking excursion into "How can I find a way to disrespect this collaboration because Lambert was really good and I don't want to admit it" territory. Then you couldn't stop yourself giving it away with your "Cher" reference. hinting at a decidedly homophobic attitude and you lost credibility entirely. What a disgusting display of cowardly closeted bigotry this entire "review" is. And the fact that you have no clue that Freddie sang with his own Broadway style when the song demanded it, that Freddie was often a little "Vegas" and that's how it's supposed to be. That one of the main reasons people didn't like Paul Rogers as frontman is because he had no sensibility for that side of QUeen's music. That in fact the very essence & appeal of Queen is that it's NOT just a growly rock band (tho Adam does that aspect brilliantly) but that it enthusiastically and unapologetically embraces the genres of opera/musical theatre/pop etc and infuses them with a rock flavour. All these things you don't seem to understand - indicating you actually know nothing about Freddie and very little about QUeen's music. I wonder if you even know that Freddie was as "gay as a daffodil" and liked to camp it up on stage too. Are you one of the "at least he wasn't in your face about being gay" crowd (i.e. at least I could pretend he was straight & not feel threatened) who never noticed how obviously & proudly gay he was? I'm not sure why you went to see them at all to be honest, you're clearly not a fan. Did you get free drinks or something?
Matt fan Jane • 40 minutes ago Well said.
TATTOOJO Jane • an hour ago BRAVO!
Sherry Jane • 3 hours ago BRAVO to Jane. You said everything I would have. Thanks
6plus12 • 17 hours ago Well, first of all, a "tribute band" does not have original members and, secondly, Lambert is not a "crooner" ("a singer, typically a male one, who sings sentimental songs in a soft, low voice"). As far as "theatricality" - if you don't think Mercury was theatrical, you don't know your man - including his "Cher-like" costumes on stage.
Mercury and Lambert have different voices (and the former's "growl" probably came from his cigarette habit). Mercury was a powerful singer/performer and Lambert is equally so. Happy he's around to perform Queen's difficult music in the manner it deserves and that you recognize his vocal brilliance. A large portion of this Tour's diverse audience is due to Lambert and, as Brian May noted in an interview, they wouldn't be doing it without him.
(Just a note - Mercury "past away" - you mean "passed," I presume - "died" would be simpler and more effective.)
Jane 6plus12 • 12 hours ago Whoever this person is he has no idea how to write English. It reads like he took a few notes down while he was sitting in the audience and then rushed off to some other event before the show even finished then just handed in whatever he'd managed to cobble together at the pub later that night.
Drakulka • 18 hours ago "The world’s greatest Queen tribute band" - what a stupidity! And the singing style of Killer Queen - that´s what the song needs! - but someone didn´t get it here...
Marianne Pouwe Drakulka • an hour ago I said this many times, Freddie would have loved to perform Killer Queen like this! Adam does a great job, says a queenfan for over 40 years :D
Barbara • 8 hours ago I've seen this twice, best entertainment going as far as I am concerned. I am a huge Queen fan and always have been. The best way to see this is get tickets and get tickets for the kids too, it's almost TOO easy to embarrass them as we dance and sing along.
Jane Plain • an hour ago Agree with all the others here about the thinly-veiled condescension... And one more thing: It's DR. May (PHD - Astrophysics)
Matt fan Jane Plain • 37 minutes ago Thinly veiled is generous. It's a blatant slur.

Here's the moment in a shorter video too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0oFIutcEWAAlso on this You Tube I mentioned for ppl to watch Talcvids cause you can then see me from the side also. You see what was happening. He didn't go up in front of someone in NJ or NY so it was soooo crazy & unexpected. Honestly it shocked the shit out of me. You can see my husband next to me (tall guy in hat) he got it on film also. I'll try to post his later. He did go up in front of someone in DC too. OMG! I would die!!
