I know. I know. I said I didn't pay attention to reviews and the little errors that creep into them. But, C'MON! "Lambert's voice isn't as high or operatic as that of the legendary Queen frontman". This is a clear case of the writer (mis)remembering Freddie. Freddie was a baritone, and Adam is a leggiero tenor. That is the highest type of tenor there is. Adam can definitely singer higher than Freddie, especially live. Freddie's voice was never "operatic." He wanted it to be, I have read. He sang with an opera star. He sang a song written in the operatic style. But, Freddie's voice was never operatic. Adam, on the other hand, trained in opera as a teen. He has sung legitimate opera compositions. Of course, Queen's repertoire has no compositions that are actually opera, but when Adam sings WWTLF, the style comes close to an aria. I also question the reviewer saying that Freddie was more athletic, but I don't have the data on that. We know that Adam works out regularly, has worked with a trainer repeatedly, and hikes frequently. His moves certainly look "athletic" to me. And those high kicks? Never saw video of Freddie doing such moves. But, maybe Freddie was a fitness nut and I haven't read about that in his bio. So, I can let the reviewer skate on that remark. But the comments about Adam's voice vs. Freddie's? THAT grated on my nerves. I know. "Let it go." The review was very flattering to Adam. Sigh.
