Haven't been posting but I will bite on this one. WWTLF from Isle of White for the depth of emotion and utter beauty of the voice. But if you want the personality showcased, one of the STL's from this tour. They are spectaular though I still have a special place in my heart for the bravura STL from the first Toronto show in 2014. He sang a lot of long notes this tour but I am not sure they beat the long note in that Toronto show and of course that was when STL was completely over the top campy - fringes and all. Why would you not choose Adam's own songs though? At least one? Good question. Of course I have QAL on my mind but I also think a more familiar song might catch the attention of someone who has never heard Adam or his music. And really those two songs are hard to top. But you are making a valid point. So I would recommend the TOHT medley of Let's Dance/LMD/Shady/Fever that he did January 15 EX Theater Roppongi. That would give a familiar song along with Adam songs. If that's too long then any of the really good recordings where he did LMD/ Shady/Fever without Let's Dance. I don't have one off hand but I am sure someone else could suggest one. ETA I just saw someone else had the same idea LOL

bringing this post from Queenzone because it's new info and confirms my guess re the reason It's Late and SYW were dropped: www.queenzone.com/forums/1482711/deep-cuts-on-the-2017-tour.aspxredspecialusa
Posted: 10 Aug 17, 01:08 I ran into Pete Malandrone after the concert in Nashville, and that was the first thing I asked him after introducing myself. As to why "It's Late" & "Spread Your Wings" were out of the setlist, his answer was "They weren't going down well." As in the crowd was dead to them. Nice guy glad to have met him briefly.

They seemed to be going over quite well with the audiences I was in, especially SYW! It's Late was very long, maybe they could have just shortened it a bit. I still think it's weird to cut the 2 new set songs from the album they are celebrating. But, oh well, at least I got to hear them 3 times! I do feel badly for those who didn't.

Glad you couldn't resist. I looked forward to this section of TOH more than any other. This particular one from The Orpheum was "on point". I LOVE sexy, dancey, smiley, energetic, fun loving Adam. I also love the stellar vocals....but shallow me loves all that other stuff too. We all have our favorites from the last several years......everybody loves the Fantasy Springs WWL....we loved various "Soaked"s...on and on. From shows that I was fortunate to have attended and experienced firsthand.....these three rank up there for me and made a lasting impression. Keeping with the theme of fun, dancey Adam, with a dash of super energized from Wilkes Barre.... I just loved Kickin In ....and so did Adam. I love this combo of Is this Love riffing and Kickin in. Plus he looked like a million bucks that nite. Oh, those buff arms...and jeans...and leather vest. I'm proudest of the M&G pic I got with him in that outfit looking like a rock star.

It is nice to have my suspicions confirmed about It's Late and SYW. Glamberts, of course, want to hear them because they are new, and we have heard all the "hits" dozens of times. Die-hard Queen fans, probably the same. But, I suspect that a majority of the attendees are not familiar with Queen's deeper album tracks. Anyone who watches sports, TV commercials, or listens to music aired anywhere knows the big hits. They are part of our collective culture. The audience gets energized when they hear the familiar strains start. And they get a bit restless with the unfamiliar songs.
I think that is why some reviewers say the show starts slowly before hitting its stride with AOBTD and FBG. Before watching the QAL concerts I had never heard HTF or SCC, and I venture to say many other audience members had not either. But starting out with the less familiar cuts may be intentional, in order to give the audience a couple of numbers at first to take in the visual spectacle, and to ramp up the energy gradually to full force. Once the show is speeding along, losing the energy for It's Late and SYW, in addition to the selfie stick and the long guitar solo, probably was deemed too much. Certainly the pacing they decided on worked very well for them. They seem to know their full audience well. It will be interesting to see what they change for Europe.
