Happy Labor Day to everyone who celebrates it today!
Lulu, thanks so much for your update yesterday. Glad to hear you could make it to the store, and that your family members are safe. Beaumont has certainly taken a horrible hit, along with so many communities along the Gulf Coast. Living without running water for so many days must be just horrible. Hoping that things get back to some sense of normalcy soon!
I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the Red Cross. In a natural disaster, I had just the opposite experience five years ago when I was evacuated for ten days here in southwest Colorado due to a horrendous forest fire (thankfully, due to extraordinary efforts by the local and national fire response teams, no homes were lost). Resources were spread very thin due to another horrendous fire that was taking place in Colorado Springs at the same time. The Red Cross made arrangements for pets, horses and livestock, helped to locate lost animals, ran a 12 hour a day center with counselors on hand to assist victims, ran a shelter for evacuees with food, sleeping arrangements and everyday necessities (coordinated with local businesses for the food, etc), supplied clean up kits for those whose homes had been "foamed", and were available to help the evacuees in any way they could. I talked to several of the volunteers, and many had been on the road for two months or more, traveling all over the western US to assist with forest fire efforts for the many thousands whose homes were threatened or destroyed by fire during that horrible fire season. Maybe things are handled differently in assistance efforts with major hurricanes. All I can say in my case is that they were a calming presence and a beacon of light during such a stressful time. I even found a volunteer who was also a Glambert - talk about a wonderful connection at such a time! And may Adam and Adam's house remain out of danger with this horrible LA fire!
As for the dolls, I find them a little creepy too, but am amazed at the talent to create them.

Adam decends the stairs around 1:55. I remember noticing that Carlos extended his hand to Adam....only to Adam.

I love that face. I love those eyes. I love that nose. I love those lips. Forgive me for drooling this Labor Day.
I hope this doesn't count as cheating on your husband.
