I would LOVE an album from Queen and Adam!!!!! That said, I just don't trust the source of that information. Could be wishful thinking or something "lost in translation". BUT it would fit with a rumour that occurred about two weeks ago on the Queen-Forum "Queenzone". Nobody trusted that rumour, because the person posting was unknown. It was said that there were some negotiations of Queen's record company to make Adam a "member" (in whatever form) of Queen in order to avoid financial disputes with Warner Bros. for upcoming collaboration material.
Here is the quote: "RumoursIt has just come to my attention that there has been some internal conflict with management that the band are considering christening Adam Lambert to be confirmed as a permanent member of Queen. The source refuses to corroborate the identity of the report but says some staff have threatened to tender resignations immediately. Supposedly this is at the behest of the record company (Island) which would feel that it is in the label's best interest to release upcoming collaboration material without financial dispute with Adam's primary label, Warner Bros.
Again I cannot confirm or deny the authenticity of what I have heard but I will provide updates to the forum if/whenever something new is revealed."(source: queenzone.com; thread: Rumours,Oct. 1, 2017)
and here are two updates by the same person:
UPDATE (3 Oct):
It looks as though the negotiations have fallen through. The internal resistance of those involved with Queen Productions Ltd. seems to have overruled the arguments for the restructuring. Adam's ambivalence also likely played a role in crushing final talks. As for John Deacon's involvement in these talks, I have no idea what part, if any, he may have played.
Updates to come whenever possible. Also to clarify... I have no professional or legal associations with the band, production companies or record labels.
UPDATE (5 Oct):
I can now confirm with my source that there have been no changes to either the official lineup of the band or the restructuring of assets of the plc. The way I understood it from my correspondence, Brian and Roger considered surrendering a percentage of their individual shares with no changes to the assets held by the estate of Freddie Mercury under two accounts (Mercury Songs Ltd and Goose Productions). Adam would have had a controlling stake under this arrangement - including revenue sharing and merchandise earnings reaped as a full member of the group, as was written here - effective the next fiscal year.
If there are alterations to the agreement, the regularly updated documents on the Company House website should reveal them.
I don't know the person, who brought that up and if it's true. But that - together with the possible revelation from Roger - makes me think, that it finally might be true, that there is new music by QAL. It would mean that they are looking for a sensible (and possible) way to release it (when it's ready). Plus: Adam did record new music almost a year ago in London and there was talk, if it was for his own album or QAL. So, all is just speculation, but it seems more possible than before. Also: I do think, that they need new music, IF they plan to tour in the future. I mean, they will have been twice in North America, Australia and Japan plus three times in Europe with very similar setlists of Queen's greatest hits coming next spring. They could tour South America again, but in the end: How often can you do that show successfully? So, IF they want to go on, they need to do something different. P.S.: I would also be completely happy with "just" a release of one of their live concerts! (Available all over the world )

That is interesting, but artists on different labels do collabs all the time so I don’t think it is that complicated. Maybe, if true, it had more to do with touring revenue? As far as having new material in order to continue touring, I would guess that most people who go to QAL do indeed want a “greatest hits” concert & NOT new material! You can kind if see that by which songs get the biggest audience reaction now even!

"On The Verge" is how Iggy and Sam's labels launched their music careers with singles that were played all the time. Would have been nice if Fox had done this for Idols. Wish Adam was connected with this show. I bet he would get radio play then (Yes, I know it is not possible). Fox Enlists iHeartMedia to Boost Musical Competition ‘The Four’ But before the show gets into gear, Fox has teamed up with iHeartMedia to support auditions and help search for talent. As part of the grand prize, the winner of “The Four” Will be part of iHeart Media’s “On The Verge” artist development program, which will support the winner with airplay across its radio holdings. The company operates more than 850 live radio stations across the country; live events; and the iHeartRadio app which supports digital music, podcasting and live streaming. www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/fox-enlists-iheartmedia-to-boost-musical-competition-e2-80-98the-four-e2-80-99/ar-AAtE39d

QAL would certainly play Queen's "greatest hits", but 4-5 new songs would be nice. I mean, the most discussed songs of the North American Tour were "Spread Your Wings" and "It's late" - songs QAL didn't play before. Fans appreciate something new!

But those songs only got big recognition form die hards. Not a great reaction to "Spread Your Wings" and "It's Late" is exactly why Dr May said they pulled them. And every reviewer says "Adam wins over the audience by song #4" You know why? Song number 4 is Another One Bites the Dust! It's the song, not the audience reaction to Adam!
