I am not surprised nor concerned that Adam's album is not done yet. Hopefully he went from EP to full album. They have not had anyone in charge at Warner for a bit so maybe it was not the best time to release. A new team was just put in place. Even with the RCA guy coming on board, Adam was not the front man for Queen when he was at RCA so hopefully this may put him in a different status/light. Besides, he was just at the writing camp in France so maybe he is putting some of those experiences and connections to good use. Actually, I am glad he did not put anything out in the middle of this heavy traffic. Nick Jonas (who had been a radio darling) is pretty much getting buried with the all the ID guys dominating, Taylor, Pink, Sam, Kelly (not moving that fast), Ed, Puth etc. The excitement of Queen and Adam will hold me over for now.

A thought or two: remember how Adam said he felt locked into playing whatever the director decided night after night--about Wicked, I think, but also about why he would like to create a role on Broadway rather than be cast in an existing play. He also slipped in one of his latest interviews that he did not want to become a "brand" ( Glamrock, 80's hits RCA wanted?), although it's one way to success, it locks one into a certain genre--and he doesn't like to cramp his style that way..
So, my point is that Adam evolves very quickly, and while he knows the generic sound he is going for( more live instruments) , he is always pushing ahead, so after music camp, he may have decided to add or delete or rework songs he had selected previously?
Taking that a step further, he loves the variety of Queen's catalog, and I think he will always be on a musical quest his entire career, or at least his immediate future. This may indeed limit his exciting, eclectic performing style away from pop radio. I think he's going for a progressive body of work--songs he can inhabit, not just sing. OR NOT--lol.
I heard LeAnn Womack on NPR talk about the real soul sucking work it required of her to please her label with more pop country, when she wanted to do old time country spiritual music like that she'd been raised in ( her father was a country DJ in East Texas.). She is doing what she wants to share now and she is enervated by writing and performing to please herself, not exhausted trying to please a label. Just sayin'.
I never realized what an emotional battle Adam may face trying to be himself and pleasing the powers that be. Thank god for Queen where he can hone his style and achieve enough financial independence to be himself. If that limits radio play because he's not a "brand" in order to please radio, labels, etc., I think he knows from Nile, Brian, and Roger, that his longevity in music doesn't have to be a compromise. Remember Nile telling him that no matter what, Adam will always be able to sing for a living.

Remember Nile telling him that no matter what, Adam will always be able to sing for a living. Good points. I tried to say that a few days ago - that in taking such a long time to work on a project, it could be that his styles or what he's looking for just keeps evolving so that he sets aside the earlier songs in favor of trying new things. At some point though he has to decide to release something! And as for an earlier post (melliemom?) about Pink taking five years to put out new music... True, but she's way more established in the public's perception than Adam is, and her songs don't disappear from radio they way his tend to. I've heard various Pink songs on radio probably weekly over these years. I haven't heard Adam since Ghost Town went recurrent (granted I live in the stupid Seattle radio market). At the risk of rehashing old shit, there are still people who don't know he's done anything since Idol. Meanwhile, I'm going to try to stop worrying and enjoy the QAL tour.
