Thank you so much for the recap nightowl. It was interesting to read your stage experience. BTW - I know that Czech guy. He gets on my nerves every time when I read his comments on Czech Queen forum or reviews of Quenn concerts. Same old same old... :( I know there are some Czech hardcore Queen fans who probably never can get through the fact Adam is Queen frontman now, the best they can even have. Anyway, it makes me very happy there are people who really appreciate Adam and his talent (as I posted above). And I'm sure most of the Queen fans attending the concert think exactly the same way as that guy from my post. Yes, I also think that most Queen-Fans at the concerts are completely happy. When we were discussing „Frontman Adam“ in our group before the concert, the Czech guy stated that his first reason to dislike Adam was his voice, because he doesn’t like it’s tone ( I‘m ok with that, it’s his opinion). But the second reason was that he can’t stand Adam‘s „gay attitude“( meaning theatrics, behavior and costumes on stage). That was the moment, when the older couple from England was laughing at him, because they meant that he couldn’t have seen Freddie then. They said, he was the same. And the Czech somehow realized that they may be right...🤘😂

I love to see comments like this by a long time Queen fan! "... he is Freddie's full-fledged successor". IKR?! It made my day. :D That is a lovely comment. It is always great to see fans appreciate/recognize what Adam brings to the table today. Brian and Roger knew a good thing (good man) when they saw and heard him and so did Adam fans. Adam is looking really handsome and QAL is rocking.

Review from Munich! www.regioactive.de/review/2017/11/03/queen-adam-lambert-bringen-die-olympiahalle-muenchen-zum-brodeln-yTFdz6B0jt.htmlGoogle translate: Meeting of the generations Queen + Adam Lambert bring the Olympiahalle Munich to a boilAt their German home match and the only German concert to mark the 40th anniversary of "News Of The World", Queen + Adam Lambert provide an almost limitless euphoria with a front-to-back performance in front of a full house. Since 2013, the two remaining Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor tour in memory of their legendary deceased frontman Freddie Mercury meanwhile with Adam Lambert around the globe. In Germany, however, they have rarely seen each other in the past two and a half years. Apart from a rainy stadium concert in Cologne, there were no further performances in Germany since the hall shows in early 2015. Also on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of their hit album "News Of The World", only one Queen gig in Germany is on the program. However, this is well chosen in terms of location: In Munich, the former home of the band, there is a reunion with new faces and old acquaintances in the sold out with 12.800 spectators Olympiahalle. Without Support actA supporting band give themselves Queen + Adam Lambert in front of this impressive backdrop. That would only take time unnecessarily, especially as the performance of May, Taylor and her new singer is delayed slightly due to the security controls at the entrance. The new stage design is already impressive for that, before even one member of the band has ever been there. At some point fog rises over the catwalk, which extends the stage forward to the audience. The light goes out, and on the video screen, the robot known from the "News Of The World" album cover shows itself in animated form and reaches for something. You could almost say, after the whole world - and already storm storming Lambert and May, with the remaining in the background Roger Taylor and the rest of the musicians before the full house. The rocking hammer fallsQueen start rocking. A quick start of "We Will Rock You" is immediately followed by a bang hard hit from "Hammer To Fall" and "Stone Cold Crazy", which is played even more without the Mercury live by May and Taylor than in the current version of Metallica. After this almost brutal entry for the English then Groove is announced with "Another One Bites The Dust". Especially Adam Lambert and the now gray, but still with his old head of hair equipped guitarist Brian May show in the initial phase generous. One after the other, they come forward and pose to the delight of the audience. Of course, occasional gimmicks may not be missing. At "Bicycle Race", for example, a pink bicycle with roses on the catwalk is specially prepared for the frontman. Back to the rootsCompared to last year Queen + Adam Lambert play on this evening significantly more classics from the 1970s. One of these hits is hunted by the other. "Bicycle Race" goes about without much ado to Taylor's sung "I'm In Love With My Car" and the animated red windows decorated, almost psychedelic seeming "Get Down, Make Love" over. After "I Want It All", May finally performs without his striking electric Red Special guitar in front of the cheering spectators and tries to speak German: "Hello, Munich and Munich, all right?" When asked, "Do you want to sing?" There is thunderous applause. Now one of the goosebumps moments of every Queen concert is on. A lifelong loveBrian May receives a 12-string acoustic guitar, sits on a stool at the front of the catwalk, and sings "Love Of My Life" with the audience. At the end of the song he receives further friendly support from the past: on the video screen Freddie Mercury appears at the legendary Wembley concert in 1986. When he finally leaves, May waves him after him. One may think of the pairing Queen + Adam Lambert, which one would like. This constellation continues to split the minds of the old-established fans. What you can not hold against May and Taylor, however, is the fact that they would not uphold the memory of their long-dead frontman. On the one hand, Lambert's voice goes really well with anything but easy-to-sing material. On the other hand, Mercury is always "summoned".

NIGHTOWL, thanks so much for your wonderful recap! I agree with you that if you're only attending one concert, I wouldn't choose the stage seat. But, if you're going to see more than one, the perspective from the stage seat is so different, and so special in its own way. What a tremendous view of the arena! Yes, lots of views of Adam's backside, which I certainly didn't mind at all! Neil was a real doll during my concert in a stage seat also - always coming over to us, and grinning at us often. Tyler never acknowledged us, and Adam was engrossed in doing his thing. You're so lucky that Brian came over to you with his Red Special - he didn't do that for us. However, and I don't know why on earth our group was so lucky, as I told everyone in my recap of the Kansas City concert, Brian came out to greet and talk with us while we were on the backstage tour - and hugs for everyone. What an extraordinary memory and what a wonderful man!!! Too bad you had fans that wouldn't give up the best places on your little "stage". In my group, everyone was willing to move around so that we all had a chance at the best view of the stage, and I was very grateful that my fellow fans were so gracious to do that. Most were Queen fans, but they were all great. One diehard Queen fan even said that he thought Adam was "better than Freddie". I was shocked!! He also told a story about buying Queen albums when he was a kid, and his parents would find them and smash them - imagine! He said he got better at hiding them, and kept buying those albums again and again.
So glad you had a wonderful time in both Prague and Munich! Speaking for myself, I can never get enough of Adam with Queen, no matter what they are performing together. And who knows if I'll have the opportunity to see them in concert again. I've become a much more fervent fan of Queen thanks to Adam's collaboration with them. Even my DH, who is not a true Adam fan, has become much more enamored with Adam after seeing two QAL concerts with me (I've seen a total of six).
For all the folks who are attending upcoming concerts - ENJOY!!! Loving all the fabulous photos and videos!!

Hungary loved WWFM last night! Adam Lambert | Back to index | YouTube stats | 11/05 16:50 EST Ghost Town iTunes: #29 Belarus #37 Namibia Whataya Want from Me iTunes: #22 Hungary Album: The Original High Apple Music: #70 Slovenia It's so amazing how quickly a song moves up on iTunes, etc. when it is sung in concert. WWFM has slept in the background for quite a while and suddenly, BOOM! It gets a nice boost! So many of Adam's great songs have been heard by so few. Nice to see a few re-emerge now and then. And once again, I have to say again how much I LOVE the arrangement of WWFM that Adam and Brian have put together. It's fresh and interesting and just "has more to it" IMO. I hope they keep performing it!

I always love the talks I have with people before the show. I consider myself a Queen fan too, and it has happened quite a few times that other Queenies thought I was a die hard as well. Often they started out a bit carefully, reassuring me that yes, this Adam is really quite good. And after finding out that I agree with them and that I don't need to be convinced the praise gets higher and higher. Once, in Cologne, there even was this girl in an old Queen shirt, raving about Adam from the start, that he was the best thing that ever could have happened to Queen. That the spirit of Freddie surely inspired him. I didn't even get the chance to get a word in to tell her that yes... I think he is pretty good too. I have only met one Brian May fan who had been to several shows and who made a display of ignoring Adam. Only cheering for Brian, looking past Adam when he was standing in front of him, things like that. Adam ignored him right back . It was quite funny actually. I can't wait to see what it will be this time around. Will there be many 'repeat customers'? What will the general vibe be? New experiences, new stories, new memories. Just a little over a week and I'll see them again!!!

nightowl Thank you so much for the great recap. Glad you had a wonderful time. I often wonder about those stage seats...good to have such a different view but they do seem restricted. Odd to design it like that. I haven't watched WWFM on video yet. Going to have at least one 'new' song at the UK shows (however old it is)
