My guess, it is a knock off and Adam just bought it. Could still be a knock off, but I rarely see fakes of these kinds of medals for sale. Normally it is just not worth it making an elaborate copy when real ones become available too (through heirs selling their family's medal and so on). But our antique trade is not in these kind of items, and I don't really know medals, so could be everything. Anyway, I don't think it is a big deal, but I am amused that Adam is wearing a European catholic royal pin. It might be this one? (there are four different ones) 2.bp.blogspot.com/-HVVU1SsZJi4/VrI6Zu1q1xI/AAAAAAAAbTw/-Eauds-W0wQ/s1600/123the%2Bregalia-Order%2Bof%2Bthe%2BImmaculate%2BConception%2Bof%2BVila%2BVi%25C3%25A7osaOrdem%2Bde%2BNossa%2BSenhora%2Bde%2BConcei%25C3%25A7%25C3%25A3o%2Bde%2BVila%2BVi%25C3%25A7osa.jpg(This from AdoreAdam) Hi Nick, Alex and Skaschep O nly saw this discussion right now. Yes it 's a Portuguese military order, restricted to Cavalary and Navy and you are right Nick... it´s not a Knock off... our Adam uses no fake things... this is the real deal I offered Adam in TOH tour Zurich...he just loved it and of course he knows what he is wearing because I added a full family and history explanation... but I never tough he would use it in the show... thanks for that, for showing me that gorgeous pic that started this conversation. So, this was an honour receivied by my great grand parent and it was offered back in the day to those patented generals in the Army that made relevant Humanitary services to comun people in times of war and my greatv grand parent recieved the 4 of them, like you said Nic...always very well informed and documented.. Those 4, I thought run in the family... this one I gave to Adam but as Nic said I don´t know if the other 3 were sold in that auction; and yes Nic the one you posted is the one I gave Adam the others being slightly different. A distant cousin asked me to give it to him as soon as he knew I had it by heritage and lottery... but the fact is that as soon as I laid eyes on it(3 years ago ) I thought of Adam and decided to wait for the opportunity of giving it to him... our beautiful inside and out King that made possible the revival of Queen for our joy and delight... yes this is the whole story and I think everybody agrees I could not have found better owner for it. looking forward to see some of you in London the 12 and 13 December.Read more: adamtopia.com/thread/4454/11-28-17-qal-liverpool?page=18#ixzz4zpLj5e6V------------------------------------------ Bringing adoreadam 's extraordinary post over from the end of yesterday's thread. In my usual inept way - still don't know how to do it properly after all these years. What a lovely story and what a wonderful return of the compliment - your gift and his wearing it so proudly. SUCH AN INCREDIBLE STORY!!!! It really stirs my heart. What a full circle experience for adoreadam and what an honor for Adam!

Gelly @14gelly REVIEW @queenwillrock @adamlambert at Echo Arena www.thetimes.co.uk/article/pop-review-queen-and-adam-lambert-at-echo-arena-liverpool-rpbr722zn … "Adam Lambert provided the youthful swagger and tight-trousered showmanship that Queen’s maximalist anthems demand. a dazzling spectacle — vintage Britrock pageantry enhanced by 21st-century technology. FIRST NIGHT Pop review: Queen and Adam Lambert at Echo Arena, LiverpoolThe real star is the high-tech production which distracts when formerly lithe, lusty hits show their creaky jointed age Las Vegas met Last Night of the Proms when Queen began the mainland British leg of their latest world tour in Liverpool. A quarter of a century after losing their original frontman, Freddie Mercury, these grey-haired rock elder statesmen could easily have become a tired heritage act. But this show was a dazzling spectacle — vintage Britrock pageantry enhanced by 21st-century technology. Half the age of the guitarist Brian May, the 35-year-old American Idol veteran Adam Lambert provided the youthful swagger and tight-trousered showmanship that Queen’s maximalist anthems demand. He may lack Mercury’s volcanic charisma and operatic tonsils, but he possesses a powerful voice and, arguably, even upstaged his predecessor in the uber-camp-outfit stakes. “Pfff, he’s no Freddie!” Lambert quipped with a self-mocking wink before taking a creditable stab at the vaulting melodrama of Don’t Stop Me Now. Mercury appeared in several video cameos throughout the evening. But if Queen are looking to fill the gap left by Mercury’s planet-sized ego, they have found an innovative solution. The real star of this show was its high-tech production, which included a 21-metre catwalk stage modelled on May’s guitar, two vast mobile video screens, and an eight-tonne kinetic lighting rig that tilted and twisted high above the stage. A huge disco mirrorball appeared during I Want to Break Free and a phalanx of rainbow-coloured lasers accompanied Who Wants to Live Forever. All this visual Viagra served as a useful distraction on the rare occasions when formerly lithe, lusty hits began to show their creaky jointed age. “Who would have thought I’d still be doing this stuff at 95?” May joked during a mid-set solo interlude before paying homage to the Liverpool crowd with a tender acoustic treatment of the Beatles’ You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away. For the majestically overblown climax, an avalanche of all-time anthems from Bohemian Rhapsody to We Are the Champions, he donned a shiny wizard’s cape while Lambert wore a sparkly crown. Led by the world’s most unlikely guitar god, a poodle-haired doctor of astrophysics, this magisterial pomp-rock pantomime was not quite rocket science, but it came pretty close. Touring to December 16 (queenonline.com)

I just wanted to bring over Cassie's post toward the end of yesterday's thread because I found it really insightful and I wish Brain and Roger and, also Adam, could read her words.

"I just read an article on the things people regret when they are on their deathbed. Not that Brian is in that situation right now, but, to see him and Roger performing in their biggest. most flashy productions ever, makes me think. They will be able to look back at this time and say that they took the risk, braved the likely criticism of fans and media, took the risk that audiences would not be interested in a couple of old guys, braved the fear that they might not be able to perform at the level they had in the past. They went for the gold one more time instead of puttering in the garden of their retirement homes, like Brian alluded to. And it has paid off astoundingly.
They are selling out arenas around the world. They say they are playing better than ever. They sound as glorious as ever. They have witnessed the adoration of old fans and new generations of concert goers, and they are getting the most glowing reviews they have ever had, by a long shot.
They will never experience the regret of playing it safe, not taking the risk to do what they love the most, bowing to the opinions of the naysayers, not risking the disapproval of others or the damaging of their reputations and legacy. Bravo, Brian and Roger. And thank you."
