if no announcement today then Monday, Jan 8th, should be the day, right? ...if the TCA theory is correct... I think Patti said Tuesday, the 9th for TCA day for NBC.

if no announcement today then Monday, Jan 8th, should be the day, right? ...if the TCA theory is correct... If not a separate announcement on Monday, the 8th, then I would think they would have the cast principals at the TCAs on Tuesday. I can't imagine them still having the main cast a secret at the TCAs. That makes no sense to me. I am hoping that Judas and Mary get announced before the TCAs, so they can get their own press cycle. Right now though, I'd say the chance of that is slim. So, hoping and wishing for Tuesday! BRB, I will check the exact time for NBC. ETA: No specific time posted, just NBC on the 9th. I do know it happens in LA, so it won't be early in the day for east coasters. I would say not before 9 Pacific Time.

I just read that Ticketmaster article and think it is great that something is finally being done to fix the nightmare of getting a ticket for popular shows. I tried so hard to get a ticket to a number of shows when I lived in Ottawa and never did...Leonard Cohen especially! Gone in seconds...

OTT but so cute! And appropriate for this week's weather. @stridinstrider: This is the best thing you'll see all day. 😍🐕 This Dog figures out how to carry his sled up the hill in order to sled for hours & hours & hours. #snow #sledding #dogs #blizzard2018 #cyclonebomb #philly #dog /video/1 The dog is called Secret, I follow her on Instagram. She does the most wonderful yoga routines with her owner, who is only 17 and has trained her all by herself. A dog in a billion. https://www.instagram.com/p/BY1UhBuAUdN www.instagram.com/my_aussie_gal/

I am not quite understanding that Ticketmaster approach to recognizing fans.
a) They seem to want to make sure that no new people can become fans throughout any given year. It seems more of a seniority principle than a fan selection process.
b) Why is the present system of fan club pre-sales not in principle the way to establish who is a fan and can therefore buy early? I did not think that this method did not work, I just thought that the volume released for the pre-sale was usually a tad too limited or selective (i.e.certain blocks in the arena).
c) Why are bots so successful at circumventing the process, even though they have these captcha, as well as purchase volume restrictions. Never quite understood that. While I am fighting to get through the 'how many dogs are in the picture' captcha crap that is presumably set up to reject the bots, it turns out that they get through in large numbers, while I am still 'counting and clicking squares' or something.
d) Would hate to lose my phone or have it out of juice, if that is the way you get entry to venues in future. Usually makes me nervous about flying too. I still like my good old paper ticket and boarding pass printed at home. One day, I will kicking and screaming arrive in this 21st century, I promise.

Yes interesting....but also a little scary. I'm gonna have to get all up to date with all the digital stuff. I've always felt so much better having my paper ticket in hand....along with my confirmation, etc. The verified fan part...not sure if that would be better or not for us diehards.. putting folks into groups and allowing them to buy in a delayed way. How would they "rank" you, etc. In that article they said that some new signees to TM got preference to those who had bought before. That already seems flawed. Would the number of previous tickets bought thru TM to a particular artist determine your ranking in the on sale times, etc. I think I'd prefer to just battle with whatever bots and other diehards at 10AM. lol. I realize that some artists...the big ones....10AM might be a huge nightmare. I did the Verified Fan process for both Katy Perry and Pink; I had to specify the venue for each and I was randomly selected for both. TM sent me a text with a link to the presale as well as a single use code to purchase up to 4 tickets on a first-come-first-serve basis. For Pink TM sent an e-mail notifying me of my selection and included instructions for how to prep for the presale. I purchased one ticket to each show and they were the normal print-at-home tickets. The process was very smooth and although it was still a mad dash at presale time things went relatively smoothly. Re Ticketmaster Presence - I'm not sure I'd want to have to use my phone for entry to the venue.

I understand what you are saying and I too have learned how to get tickets for Adam or QAL....but even at that, the system is completely slanted against the fan who does not know the system or does not belong to a fan club. I have sat and tried many times...always unsuccessfully...to get tickets for a person or group I really like but have not joined a club for. Most famously, Leonard Cohen who was furious that people were unable to go to his shows because re-sellers got all the decent seats and up-sold them out of the price range of ordinary people. If you are a mega fan with plenty of cash[you have or are willing to spend] you are OK but if not, you have little to no chance as it is now. Canada is in the process of making it illegal for resellers to up the price more than 50%....which is likely one of the reasons Ticketmaster is being pro-active. I think it is a very good thing....not everything should always be driven by more and more money...a number of artists have tried various means to alter access but only a few, and the odds are not in their favour...till now. There will still be expensive tickets for those willing and able to pay...but the system as a whole should be much more fair. It will also be easier, perhaps, for people who work at inflexible jobs to actually get tickets rather than only those able to sit at a computer for an hour or two..in the middle of the work morning.
