Yahoo Music @yahoomusic Queen, Tina Turner to Receive Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award yahoo.trib.al/YPeWvjxI've always felt puzzled by the fact that so many iconic bands/singers NEVER win Grammys or they win one at the end of their careers long after they've spent decades working their asses off creating fantastic music for millions. And yet, a new, young teen or twenty-something singer will walk away after ONE HIT SONG or ONE ALBUM with an armload of Grammys. Life sure ain't fair. I'm SO glad that Queen will be given Grammy recognition after so many years. They deserved the awards LONG ago. Where was the recognition then? I remember not long ago when Mavis Staples won her FIRST Grammy after recording amazing music her whole life. Better late than never.

I love that Adam is mentioned in a majority of the articles ... which he should be, because this is a LIFETIME achievement award, so Adam's contribution is actually a part of it.

It's a popularity contest all too often. Nothing to do with merit! However, I do believe in finally recognizing the great musicians that seemed to have fallen through the cracks!

Adam just started following a creative director for Wonderland Magazine....may mean zero....but may be some kind of shoot w him? Far out speculation. lol I think it's a good sign for a photo shoot. I don't see a lot of other reasons for him to follow. Edit to add - it might be a music video, he has one or two but is just 21 so...... who knows

TBF it is not always the case. That Popularity beats Merit. Sure few young popular singers win grammys like Taylor Swift. But their has been some great albums and work being recognised past five year. In 2013 Mumford and Sounds won best album. For their great album Babel. Kelly Clarkson won for best pop vocal album for her great Stronger album. In 2014 Daft Punk won Album of the year. Bruno Marks won Best Pop Vocal Album. His Album Unorthodox Jukebox was really good. In 2015 Beck Album of the year. Sam Smith won Best Pop Vocal Album. And in 2016 Adele won Best Album and Best Pop Vocal Album. So while I agree at times it is about popularity and not critical. And while their are some legendary artists who have not been recognised in the past. Grammys do recognised the quality of artists work.
