I think QAL has put Adam in a glorious position but also a somewhat awkward one. QAL takes up a LOT of time. He makes great money, and the boost in fame and cred has been huge, but he can't focus on his own music nearly as much. It think he would be far more vocal on Twitter and Instagram if he was always talking about his own music. It would be his necessary "promo" work. I assume that when his next album is ready to promote, he will be communicating with us a lot more. As for his personal life, he does share it with us to a degree, and we usually love it. He does lead an interesting life. And I agree that seeing more "behind the scenes" stuff would be fun, too. He is very smart and quite intellectual. He likes art and history and design and geography and architecture. He loves playing with language. He's witty and clever. All these things are why we love him. Without Queen in the picture, his whole professional focus would be on his own music. He's been forced to play catch-as-catch-can with his own music. We'll never know where he would have been professionally right now if Queen had never come into the picture. His time and effort would have been used far differently. He is so talented. I don't want any opportunity to be wasted. girldrummer, I think you made a good point. Adam definitely needs to navigate how to best split his time and attention. Which makes me think about the subject we have been discussing... Social media wise, he is in a position now where he has to "worry" about more than his own image as a solo artist. He pretty much also has a responsibility toward Queen and representing the band as their front man, and thus be a bit more "careful" may be. (I think Brian is the most active on social media now and up to that one post yesterday ( ) I have really enjoyed some of his rather educational and insightful postings on IG. I love how he shares musings and thoughts and even allows himself to be vulnerable at times. I feel like I have gotten to know the man. A bit OTT but I would love to see more stuff like that from Adam)

Sorry that I am a day late to the discussion, but I did want to add to a couple of points that are JMO and which people may or may not agree with. But - I do think Brian could have praised Robbie without using ' we will never see better' type language. Entirely unnecessary when he could have just said how fantastic Robbie was and got his approval across - without inviting comparison with a man who is just about to start a new tour with them and who puts his ability as an entertainer out there on the line, to be judged, with all his heart and soul - for Brian and the Queen legacy, every night. Insensitive and unnecessary. 1. Brian May’s wording when he wrote his post about Robbie Williams: I know that several of you are inclined to give him a pass, your prerogative of course. This man has spent untold hours writing proposals, protests, informative reports, and the lot, not to mention songs. He knows exactly the power of even one word in the impression that it can leave. He knows when he is using the comparative and superlative when he writes, and exactly to what end. Just looking at the form of what he has written in one part of his post in terms of his employment of these forms. A. Adjective form: Robbie Williams is a good performer. Of course, here, “good “ is modifying the noun “performer”. In this case, of course, only Robbie himself is the object of the praise, and any adjective preceding “good” could be utilized. B. Comparative form: Robbie Williams is a better performer than Justin Bieber and Sam Smith (these people are just random examples here) or Brian could have chosen to name no names but still have employed the comparative: Robbie Williams is a better performer than most.iThis form is when the subject, is being compared to two or more people, places, or things. Here is where the creation of preference, belief, or hierarchy begins. C. Robbie Williams is the best performer ever, and the variations to enforce this statement. In the superlative, it matters not whether you use other names or not because you are making the statement that Robbie Williams is better than any other performer or entertainer in our current group of musicians now, This statement means that to the writer, Brian, no entertainer can top or beat Robbie. Of course, Brian is entitled to his opinion, but this strange turn of phrase, given what he has repeatedly stated in the past, is absolutely 100% guaranteed to create puzzlement, confusion, etc... Of course, Brian didn’t mention Robbie’s singing, but many people, himself included, have mentioned Adam’s unmatched entertaining skills. So what’s up, Brian? Did your GFG get demoted? And I am going to put Freddie in there, too, even though he has been dead for many years. As some article said during the last tour:: lightening really has spoken twice in the case of Queen and its frontmen. No, Brian, you don’t get a pass from me—and again, this is simply JMHO and it is okay if not one Per with me here. Social Media has an incredible power, just as we have been discussing. Well, I am worn out, and although there were a couple of other points I wanted to make shorter!!! comments about, I won’t. Please forgive any errors above. I cannot find my glasses, and this print looks so small as I type. I wish I knew how to make it bigger. I will end by offering my thoughts and prayers to the victims, families, and friends of all of the victims, physical and psychological, of the Florida school shooting in Broward County. That’s 18 school shootings.in about 1 1/2 months. Depending on what you read, the numbers may vary, but a great many articles say 18. It was especially poignant to see the children presents fro Valentine’s Day such as teddy bears, and I even saw one balloon saying “Happy Valentine’s Day!”, all decorated in bright colors and happy designs.

One other quick thing: I love Darren Criss in general and wish there was some way to give two emmies. But if I have to choose, Evan Peters in AHS Cult would be it. If you haven’t watched it and have access to doing so, you should love it if Murphy’s unique tales are for you. Peters said that after this, he was going to have to go somewhere and isolate himself for a while to recover 😱

Yeah I think overreacting here. I Don't think Brian saying "Their well never be better". Was a shot to Adam. And i am sure if Adam read it, he well be yes Brian! I love Robbie!!! LOL. I think Brian was just using a Pun to emphazise how great Robbie was. I don't think it was personal. Brian is allowed to praise other artists. I am not sure how that is being insensitive. IS he only susposed to applaud Adam for ever now. In case some of his rabid fanbase, think he has forgotten that Adam is the GFG? LOl, come on now.

I don't want to repeatedly beat a horse that is, if not dead, at least comatose, but I wanted to thank graciejane and sizzling63 for their lovely, supportive comments to my early morning rant. I appreciated them a great deal. And mszue and linkinbert, your observations were right on, IMO.
Okay, only one more whack...just to reiterate that nobody.was.dictating.to.Adam. Discussing things among ourselves, not even to him, that he could do differently is not dictating to him. It's not attempting to manage his career. It's not unreasonable fandom entitlement. It's just a discussion. TOH's sales were less than inspiring, and he could very possibly be close to four years down the road from there when he releases Era 4. It's easy to say sales are in the crapper, because yeah, they are, but I'm sure WB would like to see some at least vaguely respectable sales/streaming numbers from Adam - more than what the hardcore fandom can deliver. How Adam, his team, and WB deal with that expectation is not in our hands, but making suggestions as a topic of discussion should certainly not be out of bounds.

absolutely right that it depends on how much interest you have in a certain person, how much you want to see/hear/read of them... to give example of another artist I've mentioned before: Cody Simpson has perfectly nailed how to use his twitter and instagram for promotional purposes...I really like his serenades on there )...but I didn't expect that automatically from Adam... Cody likes to serenade his fans and Adam shared his mothers wedding and his trip to Hawaii... Truth be told, (unrelated to Cody) I did just a few days ago think that Adam could serenade us again on ig ...last time he did that he was also in Australia...so maybe (I know he did that ig-live thing, where he sang a few lines of two fux, but am I missing something else?) LinkinBert who is this other fave? Someone from Linkin Park?
