Whatever the reason, it was nice to see some behind the scene glimpses yesterday! I remember that I came to this board right as the promo for TOH began, and throughout the tour, he would do these little videos that were very cute and something to look forward to. He might not have time for as many things anymore, but just something like what we got yesterday was nice, and if he—or Shosh—browsed the thread and saw some of the suggestions/concerns, then that means they are listening, and I am sure they are able to ascertain what might be useful or reasonably wished for. That said, there is one little thing that has slightly concerned me in its wording. Please forgive me when I get into wording details like this and a couple of days ago, but looking at this sort of thing was part of my job In a past life. I understand what he is doing, but a couple of times recently (cannot locate), he has said he is a “guest” of the band. It might seem like splitting hairs but the connotations of “guest” are different from the connotations of “frontman”, something that has only fairly recently began to supersede “former American Idol Contestant”, and sometimes the AI title still wins out. Last year, I read somewhere, and the writer called it one of the most successful live collaborations in recent memory or something like that. “Guest” says something different, especially to the more casual fan or reviewer, than does “collaboration” or “frontman”, the latter two of which suggest more equality on many levels, an equality which Roger, Brian and company appear to have accorded him over the years. Yes, he is and has always done a nice job of having his job with Queen as one thing and his personal identity and work as another, thus the “ + Adam Lambert” designator. Even Freddie did work on his own, and though his situation was somewhat different, maybe tougher in this case, I believe he did manage to make it clear that this was his own work. But Adam has more to lose if it appears that he is too distanced from or even secondary in terms of his input and reasonable autonomy. IMO, he stands to lose more if his position with Queen isn’t clearly worded than Queen does. They are, after all, Queen! As someone, or maybe several people, pointed out yesterday, we are not your more typical fans. Impressions fly by and sometimes lodge I to a person’s way of constructing understanding, often within seconds, and often unconsciously. These first impressions can be harder to get out than they were to get in, especially to newer or more casual or unfamiliar fans. If this seems like nitpicking, just speed right on by and then discard it. Again, though the power of even one word can make a difference!... forgive me if this or parts of this are not clear or seem to make little sense. I do not sleep until I am utterly worn out (e.g., it is almost 5:00 a.m. where I live, and in a couple of hours, it will be 24 hours with no sleep 😴Aargh! Very happy for all of you lucky concert I did notice in a recent article (sorry, don't remember which one, but I know it was posted on Atop), that the writer referred to Adam as the "guest" singer for Queen. I did not interpret the article as saying that Adam referred to HIMSELF as a "guest." But maybe I'm wrong. It's been quite a while since an article has referred to Adam as the guest of Queen. Brian and Roger sure don't refer to him that way. To them, he IS their front man. And I think they've made it clear that he is the last front man will ever have. To me, anyway, that pretty much settles the issue. Yes, he is currently frontman for Queen. But that is really not the issue that we’ve all been circling yesterday and for ages. The question is can and how, when so much of his professional image along with his time and energy is consumed by QAL, does he maintain a viable solo presence? He has and continues to reinforce that he is not Queen even though he makes it clear that he enjoys the collaboration. Without that separation and without significant efforts to demonstrate and convince his solo-Adam fans that he is still invested in his solo career and new music is coming that piece of his career would/will suffer.

Adam referred himself as a"guest""when asked about recording new music with Queen . He said "to me ,Queen is Freddie and I am a guest".
The next day in the letters page a reader replied "nice to read Adam Lambert understands that he is only a guest performing with Queen and that he should not record With them ,because the Queen sound will always be about Freddie . this was in a U.K paper last week.

This is the article 'I wouldn’t ever say never': Adam Lambert refuses to rule out the possibility of a new Queen album... as fans continue to praise his four-year stint as the band's frontman He went from being a reality show runner-up to fronting one of the world's biggest bands. And as Adam Lambert continues to earn praise for his four-year run as Queen's lead singer, fans are now wondering if a new album is on the cards. When speaking to The Daily Telegraph on Saturday, the former American Idol contestant said: 'I wouldn’t ever say never'. The group effectively called it quits following the tragic death of founding lead singer Freddie Mercury in 1991. Acknowledging that fact, Adam asked: 'If Brian (May), Roger (Taylor) and me create new music, would it even be called Queen? To me Queen is Freddie and I am a guest.' Yes, I know that Brian and Roger have referred to Adam as frontman for some time, and just as they are glad to have found Adam, he is fortunate as well. You are likely right that the writer referred to Adam as a guest. Adam might not have referred to himself as a guest, and I might have just read it wrong. In any case, thank you for your post, and have a lovely day, evening, or whatever it is where you are! Adam used to refer to himself as a "guest" when talking about his role. Recently, he has stopped, pretty much, and refers to himself as "frontman" and Queen as a family. I think it is part of Adam's evolution with Queen. Angelina and I talked about that in the recent soundbath videos. That Adam has become Queen, that it now sits in his body comfortably and completely. Many of us have noticed the expanded comfort and confidence in his recent QAL gigs. I think symbolically, QAL acknowledged it by having Adam sing all the lines and verses in Bohemian Rhapsody. I have cued the video up to the first time we discuss Adam becoming an integral part of Queen here: youtu.be/2DZ8FFeeNWs?t=7m15sI think Adam has done a great job of balancing respect for Freddie and giving Queen fans the time to accept him, with his own self-expression and interpretation of the music. Because of that, he is earning the right to drop the word "guest" frontman. So that it now seems humble when he says it. That said, this was a hard balancing act -- and he clearly is becoming an adept tightrope walker. ** I have a good feeling about A4 and I hope we get to hear something new on Idol -- which I am sure he will be on.
