I keep wondering how comfortable Adam would be with a lead acting role. I know he was the understudy in Wicked, but he doesn't have much experience with it outside of his school years, does he? He got great reviews for his acting in Glee, which I've been happily pouring over lately; I wonder if that could translate to the big screen and a lead role. I kind of hope, if Adam lands a major acting/singing role like Judas, it would be in a film with decent exposure and budget, rather than a television production. If the right film role comes along, he could really nail it and expand his fanbase tremendously. Even if it were more of a cult classic type of film, an indie, it would still maybe introduce him to people who would have turned their nose up at mainstream entertainment, like American Idol. Not a biopic of someone, either, but a movie like Labyrinth or Velvet Goldmine: an original story (or fake-bio) where he could stamp his own name on a part without any comparisons to previous actors or music legends. Or even a more toned-down, slice of life story like Singles, if it gave him opportunities for a nuanced character and great musical moments. He was singled out as one of the best things about RHPS, but that was another comparison to the original. I wish he'd get an original role so he could knock it clean out of the park and be judged on his own merits. On the other hand, I wonder how his acting would hold up. He was pretty great in that Glee episode I watched all the way through (Trio), but he was also playing the "straight man" to all of the wacky events around him, so he didn't really have to dig deep emotionally. He definitely knows how to perform various moods through music and he taps into something extraordinary when he sings songs like WWTLF, so I think, with the right director, he could do a pretty splendid job at it on the big screen. I would so love for him to get a voice-over gig on a Disney or Pixar movie. His acting on Glee got better as he went along, wasn't great on Pretty Little Liars, so he needs more cameos but the longer duration ones. But yes he could nail a part where he can mostly be himself.

Well Judas is cast now: BroadwayWorld @broadwayworld Brandon Victor Dixon, Norm Lewis, and More Join NBC's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR LIVE IN CONCERThttps://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Brandon-Victor-Dixon-Will-Play-Judas-in-NBCs-JESUS-CHRIST-SUPERSTAR-LIVE-IN-CONCERT-20180222 … Brandon Victor Dixon. No idea who that is. I still think Adam did want that role, but something went wrong. We might never know what. My bet is he wanted it but that: 1. The deal was not to his likely -- that is, not enough money, or billing, or timing,,,, 2. OR his management told him not to do it. 3. OR he has a schedule conflict. 4. The network wants Broadway veterans so this production is good. No more Carrie Underwoods or Allison Williams. If Adam signed to PhilyMack, then #2 seems really likely to me. Not in line with Pop rebranding and attracting young fans, and that is what Phil does. Brandon Victor Dixon is a Broadway star -- last in Hamilton. He is a good choice. They said they were going to cast recording stars but mostly they are casting Broadway veterans. I think you left out that it is very much a brown cast with a few exceptions. All four people they named today were of color which could mean they were looking to be very inclusive, more accurate historically, or I'm thinking building on the popularity of Hamilton and the movie success of the Black Panther. But yes, something dramatically changed from their first "using real rock stars". We'll have to see how it pans out and how they advertise. I've never seen it so after all my study if I watch it I will understand more and probably like it better than just seeing it cold.

It was outstanding in every aspect. I guess it could be that this new TV version is attempting to make it more historically accurate by using people of color. Or it could just be that they found the people they wanted for other reasons.

Thank you! That was a really nice interview. He seems like he's in a good place right now. <3 Very good interview! Love that they includes lots of clips of Adam onstage. Lots of people still don't have a clue what they're missing.
