Not sure how encouraging these news are for musicians. yup.... and this is particulary bad for Adam imo: "..A deal between iHeart and Liberty, which owns Sirius XM, would combine the postbankruptcy radio broadcaster with the leading player in satellite radio."

Just watched the Ru Paul show. I almost missed the talked about exchange on stereotyping....no big deal, I felt. Adam was Adam.....forthright, helpful, kind...and looking good! And Amalia - there is something about her.....I think she has that elusive star power...draws you to her.

Why do some publications call Adam's WWFM a Pink cover? Artists release songs all the time written by other artists or other people and they are not called covers. And Pink in not even the only writer of the song. There is no way they did not know this was Adam's hit song. But it probably did not help when she put in on her album of hits when she never had a hit with it. I hate to think what would have happened if Fever or NCOE had become hits. It would have been a cover of Gaga or Bruno I guess. Not important I know but just annoying to me.

I'm not a Pink fan but when she put WWFM on her greatest hits album, I lost a lot of respect for her. Also, one of Adam's haters reveled in some review that said the concert was all Queen covers and a Pink cover. How are they Queen covers if members of the original band or performing them?

It would have been a cover of Gaga or Bruno I guess. Not important I know but just annoying to me. You are answering your own question already. It's because she put it on her album of hits that it's called a P!nk cover. If she hadn't done it, it would have been considered Adam's song. Here is the set-list from Melbourne one: www.setlist.fm/setlist/queen-adam-lambert/2018/rod-laver-arena-melbourne-australia-63efb28b.htmlThere are some rules on there about covers. And yes that makes all songs on the set-list covers. www.setlist.fm/guidelines#covered-songsCovered songs If one or more songs on the setlist were previously released by another artist, it's possible to mark them as covered by writing @cover[artistname] after the song. E.g. @cover[The Beatles] for a cover of a song by The Beatles. Songs are credited to the group or performing artist who originally wrote the song. E.g. John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote "A Day in the Life", while members of The Beatles. So the song would be credited as A Day in the Life @cover[The Beatles]. Songs performed by an orchestra should be credited to the composer who wrote the song and not to the orchestra. Songs written before the invention of commercial sound recording (1877) should always be attributed to the original artist. If the original artist is unknown the song should be listed as @cover[traditional]. Exception 1 If a songwriter writes a song for another artist or group which they were not a part of, and never records their own version of the song, then the song should be credited to the artist who released it first. If the songwriter does finally release their own version of the song, regardless of how many years have gone by, then the song should be credited back to the songwriter. E.g. "Bright Eyes" was written by Mike Batt and first released by Art Garfunkel in 1979. Mike Batt released his own version in 2009, so the song is credited back to him. Exception 2 In cases where more than one artist, who are not in the same group, are credited with writing the song, then the artist who released the song first is given credit. E.g. Because the Night was written by both Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen, but first released on the album Easter by Patti Smith Group. Therefore the song is credited as Because the Night @cover[Patti Smith Group] Exception 3 Songs written for musicals or musical films should be credited only to the songwriter(s) of the song. Various combinations of composers and lyricists should be avoided. E.g. use @cover[Andrew Lloyd Webber] instead of @cover[Andrew Lloyd Webber & David Zippel] or @cover[Andrew Lloyd Webber & Don Black & Christopher Hampton]. If none of the original songwriter(s) are available then credit should be given to the artist with the first commercial release of the song, and please report it to the forum. There could be other exceptions to the rule! If common sense tells you a @cover assignment feels wrong please post the song to the forum.

Cute pic of the trio from XF, but poor Isaiah looks a little worse for wear lol....I don't think that thing over his lip is doing him any favors. I hope the 3 took notes on how performing is done....I've tried watching some of Isaiah's videos but there is no life to the boy....I know a lot of it is just inexperience, but he's kind of boring lol. But at least he's cute. Adam, on the other hand....enough said. IMHO,Isaiah is a really good singer, but somebody is giving him real duds to sing.. They don't show up his voice and are sooo boring.. Music industry blah

bridgeymah I'm late but thanks for your recap! @skashep thanks to you also for bringing over that article about coves...VERY interesting!!! @graciejane Iheart bankrupt and spotify is losing money...that really doesn't sound too good. The music industry is really in a transition phase. My hope is that it transitions into more artistic freedom and everyone getting their fair share of credit and money

Also, one of Adam's haters reveled in some review that said the concert was all Queen covers and a Pink cover. How are they Queen covers if members of the original band or performing them? No, it should NOT be called a cover. And I appreciate the explanation as to what constitutes a cover. Some people just don't understand the difference. As to WWFM, I know it was Adam's hit but I never liked it much. To me, it's rather plodding and unexciting. He sings it beautifully, of course, as he does everything. But I wish he would choose something different of his own to sing with QAL, like maybe Shady or even Pick U Up or These Boys. They are upbeat and fun and show off his voice beautifully. I know many Adam fans love WWFM, and that's fine, but to me it not a show-stopper. It just slows it down a little. JMHO

Music industry blah Isaiah is one of those young guys with a big man's voice, and it's hard to find songs that suit him. I don't know how his sails are doing. He's very likable. Adam sure saw something special in him. He got a nice thing going, at least for a while. And this news about Spotify and iHeartMedia, etc. is pretty scary. It affects everyone in the industry.
