Good idea, having events that gather a "gay song-writing mafia" together, so they all get to know each other personally and get united, and also make them visible to the public through the press while they're at it, to show their accomplishments. Unlike women, it isn't abvious who's gay and who's straight, so people don't always know what gay people have accomplished. Putting it out in the open is the sort of thing, I feel, that little by little shifts people's minds and perception.

Sitting alone with a forlorn look on his face? I hope that was poetic license and he was just looking at his phone, because that hurt my heart a little "forlorn" is a pretty strong description. I would not read too much into it though, especially as the party was winding down and Adam may have thought about the next thing on his schedule. However, there is something to be said about the "most famous" to be a bit isolated at times, even within their groups - others may feel a bit too shy or even a bit too jealous to approach them.

Haha throwback to middle school .He is probably one of the most famous and successful of the group... maybe Adam stopped being charming for a split second and was seeking the correct time.LOL OK, that comparison wasn’t really fitting, but you know, what I meant (I hope.). And yes, he was the most famous, together with Troye. You can see that in the headlines of the published articles from today. 😉 Maybe the others didn’t know, how to approach him? Come to really think about it, I don’t believe, that there is much to it at all. But his name is in many headlines today! 👍 I wouldn't take the "forlorn" comment too seriously. Adam is very social. I'm sure he spent the event talking and socializing with everyone. This comment was probably referring to just a few moments when people were walking around and leaving and he was still sitting down. Adam had no reason to feel forlorn, and I don't think he was. Hope this meeting has some positive results for him!

Very interesting article! Lots of ideas were shared about fan bases, radio play, marketing and promo strategies of gay artists, etc. Troye said he's not too sure who his core fan base is: guys, girls, straights, gays, etc. But he has managed to attract a lot of fans, whoever they are. After Idol, Adam said that his label had the dilemma of how to market him, and his sexuality made it all the more complicated. Not to mention the fact that Adam was older than most other Idol alums. He went on the show almost at the age limit. He didn't have his whole 20s ahead of him to grow a fan base. Troye is younger and has some more flexible time to grow and adapt. He probably has a overall younger fan base. Adam really paved the way. He was gutsy and honest. Not everyone was ready for it. So nice that these artists were able to get together and share their common issues.
