Of course there are always naysayers out there.

Of course there are always naysayers out there. If you read a Google translation of the article that the post was meant to address, you will understand... :( That is technically incorrect from this critic. One Adam is very charasmatic, and has prob the most unique voice in contempory music today. But I am presuming this is comparison to Freddie? Its a lame attempt to dequalify Adam. Back in Freddies day their wa sno social media. The information age as it is today was not prevalent back than. Mass Media was more possible. More than these days impossible. Artists like Freddie and MJ had more of a sense of animinity. Therefore an Aura. It is just not like that these days. Social and Digital media has really broken down the barriers between the audience and the artist. So I don't think it is fair to compare eras. By default Adam is doing something no other artist in the world could do. That makes him very unique and exceptional.

IMHO. There cannot be a true comparison between Adam Lambert and Freddy Mercury one is alive and one has been dead for many years times have changed. Music has altered. The queen catalogue is amazing and its themes universal and timeless. Yes Freddy Mercury was unique and multi talented but he’s no longer with us. Adam Lambert to me is the best singer of this generation His voice is emotional thrilling and reaches the soul and heart I listen to Adam Lambert’s own n music daily. It fills me with joy with all kinds of emotion. I long for Adam to go back to his own music. Because his music Reflects him. I listen to queen these days to hear my favorite singer in the world and that is mr Lambert. To me queen is very lucky to have him they know it if some critics don’t

Compare it to other rock shows that come to town if you must. Compare Adam to other frontmen who are performing now. But the fixation on someone who has been gone for so long and is not coming back, even if he is your preferred choice. Brian, Roger and Adam and band members are putting everything they have in delivering a show that is very pleasing to the fans who attend. They are traveling all around the world to deliver an outstanding production and entertaining night. They are not doing this to try to convince some idiot that Adam is better than or as good as Freddie. So not the point of the show so why make it about that? That such resentment remains in the mind of some is baffling. Who are they trying to convince anyway? The fans are loving and discovering Adam. Just be happy that Brian and Roger have found someone who makes them very happy to tour with and let them and non-bitter fans enjoy it for as long as it lasts.

Thanks for the translation of the latest review, kryptoman68 . Translations are tough as a lot gets lost "in translation", and I read it quite a few times. I particularly didn't quite get this line, "May and Taylor already tried to revive the reign with a guru of their generation, Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad Company), but neither one nor the other is old enough to contain the egos." Huh? About Adam himself... I think the critic was "trying" to be fair - respects him for not pretending to imitate Freddie, and recognizes Adam's "large vocal register" - but still, it seems that he didn't particularly like Adam. He has a right to an opinion of course, just like we have ours. It should help us keep a healthy perspective and positive outlook if we remind ourselves that it really speaks for itself that Queen and Adam Lambert are still touring worldwide and are soon to do a Vegas residency, and despite all of that not everybody gushes about Adam and their collaboration. Freddie comparisons are part of the deal, and I think they are inevitable for someone who replaces the iconic singer of a legendary band. But it gets tiring. For me too. At this point, I feel very similarly to melliemom and I too am longing for Adam to go back to his own music and the interpretation of his own lyrics through his incredible instrument.
