I knew all that. But IMO, had Cumulus played WWFM before it peaked, it would have peaked higher than 10 on BB Hot 100 (that position was because of that Idol performance, not radio) and would have set him up to get more play for IIHY, which only peaked at 30 on BB. I never heard that song on the radio and I live in the SF bay area. Had IIHY had more been more successful, I think FYE the album would have made platinum in the US. Yes, I agree the Trespassing single choices were bad but I firmly believe that if Bruno released NCOE, it would have been a hit. They play anything from him. Had any Trespassing single been a hit, I think radio would have been more likely to play GT more, which only peaked at 64 on BB. For me, BB Hot 100 is the definitive chart to measure a single's success. AFAIK, IIHY and GT were not platinum in the US. So yes, Adam has had some degree of radio success, but he still isn't one of those artists US radio plays automatically. I remember a couple years ago a millennial co-worker raving about Sam Smith being an artist who can really sing w/o autotune. It had to have been because he heard him on the radio. I remember thinking I wish he was talking about Adam. I agree. No one has said that Adam does not get radio play in the US but it is a lot less than the hitmakers get. And it takes his songs so long to move. Almost like a slow walk. Without the hits you don't get the award show performances and a chance to boost album and single sales. And RCA talked about how hard they worked to get Cumulus to play WWFM. But it was already falling on the charts by the time they put it in play. No such problem with the other Idols (Kris, Daughtry, Cook). They were automatically put on rotation by them during that time. And I really think song choice is just as excuse for lack of some songs getting played. Some artists will get everything played good or bad. And it is not as if BTIKM was just crap compared to everything else that got played. Only fans say that because they liked other songs better and wanted them played. But it is a matter of taste. I would take that song over some of the songs that others liked better. Really did not like NCOE, but you are correct, if Bruno had released it there would have been no problem.
