First I want to thank nic42 for her recap:)
So here is mine: (Pre concert)
On Tuesday morning I got on an early train, not without a little side-eye from my mom, who took me to the train station, for seeing this show again, after I have seen it two times last November. Train worked perfectly as planned, without delays. From the train I went directly to the venue. There were already a bunch of people there. Apparently by 5 oh clock there were more than 20 people. The first girls came at 3 am. I was #76 at 12:20. After hanging a while I brought my stuff to our room, which was covered in micky mouse comics. I was sharing a room with
metislight. We hung out with fellow glamberts in front of the venue. We had a great conversation about the different countries we come from. It was interesting and eye opening to learn about other countries and hear first hand stories from people living there. There was a little anxst about the numbers at some point, because some people coming later "didn't care", but it all worked out well. There was a bit of construction at the venue which made talking a bit hard. Both days we had the perfect weather for queing, not to hot, not to cold.
(the concert)
We got thru the security fast and got the spot we wanted. At the tip of the thrust. Dead center. Perfect view. Waiting for the show to begin I talked to this lovely girl from Spain. She was here for queen. Adam went FULL out with his vocals! There was no stopping him. In one of the first songs he hit a high note on "everywhere" (forgot which song 😶). I looked at Metislight and saw her shaking head (I stood behind her). I knew she was thinking the same thing. During radio gaga when Adam came down the queenies behind me started pushing. Before the show they were talking queen songs in detail and all of a sudden they all wanted a piece of Adam. I stemmed my arms on the barrier, so I wouldn't be pushed on to Blanca, who was in front of me. I didn't manage to touch Adams hand which funnily enough didn't bother me as much as the fact that he deliberately avoided looking at me. The Spanish girl by all accounts was enjoying show. She was in tears when Brian sang "love of my life", as was the girl on the other side to me. It was too sweet
after cltcl and stl I realized, that tsmgo and wwtlf where still to come. I hadn't watched any videos of this tour, so I didn't know, Adam would come out from under the b stage. I let out a surprised "woah", such an impression.
After the show we went back to our room and after only a bit of talking went to sleep, because we had to get up at 4 am.
Next day:
Our travels worked out just fine. But we had ticket angst of the different kind. Metislight had sold one of her spare tickets. (which she had sent to me, so I had them). When I got my ticket from our room I brought the ticket she was selling and put the other one on her bed. After the concert housekeeping had been there. At the train station Metislight asked where the ticket was. I was like I put it on your bed, don't have it? No...we realized, that houskeeping had made her bed and might have thrown it away. SHIT!!! I called the hotel. No information. Housekeeping team comes in at 8. It was 5:45. Didn't matter, we were on our way anyway. In the line in Hamburg someone suggested to call ticketmaster and ask if they could issue a e-ticket ours was destroyed. I called. While still waiting in line on the phone I got out our ticket and travel information, for the ordernumber...only to find the ticket ^^...i had our ticket and travel information spread on my bed and apparently the housekeeping put the ticket on Metislights bed back on mine. After the concert I simply packed it up not noticing the ticket was in my possession again. FEWW the line in Hamburg was super organized. we got numbers 10 and 11 at 9 o'clock. There wasn't that much rush as in Berlin. We met Julia. She is a music lover and concertgoer....she's seen a lot of acts. We didn't want to spoil the show for her. We just got her really excited
she trusted us, to not come with us to the side of the catwalk but where we were the day before, at the tip of the thrust. Seeing one show and being there for Brian and Roger we thought it was the best spot for her. After the show she understood. The crowd in Hamburg was INSANELY loud. Although the energy in Berlin was definitely better. I know it sounds weird, but others agreed on this with me. Somehow Hamburg passed even faster than Berlin. It was very interesting to be at the side of the catwalk. We heard some notice under the catwalk and it was the drums being brought to the BSTAGE. Adam up close... Several times I saw sweat flinging from him. He really busts his ass of for us!
Waiting in line I talked to the security and heard him out. After the concert I went to the back of the arena to wait for Adam. Security quickly sent us away saying another time, the band wants their peace and quiet tonight. As much I understand and respect that I couldn't help but feel a little heart broken. We could watch them from afar getting into the car. Adams car was pulled up directly to the door. Roger left first, followed by Tyler and Nile. What we saw with Brian was unsettling. Anita walked with him and it seemed like he could barely walk. He just seemed really weak. Knowing what was coming I looked at the BSTAGE for Adam at the end of Brians solo and missed that apparently Brian could barely hold himself when security unhooked him from the platform (Metislight told me afterwards). It is impressive that he was jumping around on stage just moments before. Adam came out last, and gave us a weak smile and waved, which consoled me. I Called a thank you and good night to him. I know this is entitled and greedy but I don't want to lie about it.
I had a great time with Metislight. Following Adam from the beginning she is very observant, things I would simply miss. With her background she has such a understanding for music. It is always interesting to see her point of politics and the world, because she is so informed.
Summeary:
I had a fantastic trip, so many nice people all around. Berlin was just...wow and Hamburg was so interesting to notice some of the behind the scenes stuff.
Thanks for bearing with me lol
