CelebMix @celebmix What makes a good artist manager? celebmix.com/what-makes-a-good-artist-manager/ … Adam Lambert started his career with 19, who had exclusive rights to all American Idol talent, (not dissimilar to how XFactor and Modest Management worked for a few years) in 2011 he signed with Direct Management Group. In early 2018 he signed with Dan Lavery and Alexis Rasten at Philymack Inc. So we finally know who his new managers are!!
I do not know anything about Dan Lavery but I guess he is Adam's day-to-day manager?

cassie, Alison has, most of the time, had a (to me) shrill edge to her voice that both grates and offends my ears. Some of her stuff I enjoy, but not most. My feelings only. Is there a term for that sound that my ears define as shrillness? Wondering if it is intentional or just a byproduct of her voice. Also wondering because people in the industry, like Idol judges and Matt Rolling in this video, seem to think she has a fantastic voice. This is a great video and Alisan has a great voice and she knows how to entertain. She deserved her win! That said, her voice doesn't sound full and rich to me if that makes any sense. Still good though!

Alexis Rasten handles marketing -- more about her: She is Head of Marketing, Publicity, and Digital at Philymack and works with all their artists. I do not know anything about Dan Lavery but I guess he is Adam's day-to-day manager?
Dunno...those names have been pulled from the article. “Adam Lambert started his career with 19, who had exclusive rights to all American Idol talent, (not dissimilar to how XFactor and Modest Management worked for a few years) in 2011 he signed with Direct Management Group. In early 2018 he signed with Phily Mack (Phil Mclntyre) at Philymack Inc.” This appears to be Lavery, but he seems to have a band himself called Tonic, was formerly a part of The Fray. www.instagram.com/danlavery/ www.instagram.com/tonicbandofficial/Ahhh, here is a office listing. Lavery is on it...maybe a dual career dude. www.zoominfo.com/pic/philymack-llc/357420572

@drbrianmay: This one's for Guitar/amp enthusiasts. The one and only brilliant Nigel Knight made me this new plinth for the one and only original brilliant Deacy amp. Makes the whole thing much more… www.instagram.com/p/BljULd0B3Ka/?utm_source=ig_twitter_share&igshid=ql29anjbsf2qAnd since I had to look up what a plinth is, here is a good explanation from; www.audiosuspension.com/isolation-plinth.htmlOur isolation plinth is the ideal solution for isolating individual pieces of equipment from unwanted vibration and resonance. Using the same 20mm high grade acrylic as our other products with an inset spirit level, the plinth also features high quality aluminium legs. These use a high quality 5/8" Chrome steel bearing (Grade 100) to support and isolate. The principle used to isolate, is based on minimising contact between the supporting surfaces within the foot, bearing and isolating base plate. Contact points are literally no more than a hairline width. The combination of chrome steel, aluminium and nitrile rubber rings within the foot combine to act as a barrier against unwanted vibrations, the combination of materials helps to absorb a wide variety of unwanted sound frequencies. Some of the benefits experienced can be heard in a tighter base response and improvement in the soundstage when fitted to turntables and a general reduction of transmission of unwanted noise and vibration within your equipment. This plinth is perfect for larger pieces of equipment that need individual isolation like power amplifiers or turntables.

Also wondering because people in the industry, like Idol judges and Matt Rolling in this video, seem to think she has a fantastic voice. I think what you are hearing is "vocal twang." It is a technique that can make the voice sound more brittle, more bright, more sharp, and more piercing. It can add the sensation of power to the voice that allows it to be heard more clearly over accompaniment. And yes, it involves amplifying the higher subharmonic frequencies while dampening the lower ones. I personally like a bit of twang at times, but mixed with the fuller sound. Alisan's voice is too piercing for me to find it pleasant. I remember years ago when one of our members commented that she found Adam's pre-Idol recordings with very high notes to be unpleasantly piercing. My guess is that he was using more twang to hit those very high notes, and they lacked the richer lower frequencies. Adam's voice has matured greatly since that time, as would be expected with age. But, I think he has also learned how to mix his voice to maximize all the subharmonics, high and low, for that rich sound that still has great power and range. Check here for more info about twang. youtu.be/1BLVrYKmwvc

Still good though! I have to say, I have never been too crazy about Alisan's voice either. Even her speaking voice is quite nasal and kind of thin in its tone, at least to me. Kind of like a Munchkin. She certainly hits all the notes. I don't think she is a bad singer at all. She's a really good singer and deserved her win as much as any winner. She has control and range. But I guess I'm spoiled by the depth and warmth and richness of Adam's voice. I think female singers tend to be more shrill simply because their voices are naturally higher than men's. But it can be controlled so it doesn't sound shrieky. I am sure her fans have no issue with her voice and love her talent. Wish her luck!
