GLASGOW has been a music fan’s dream this summer.
The city has hosted it its fair share of concerts, festivals and gigs over the decades and our the city’s music venues have staged countless legendary gigs since the late 60s, making it one of the hotspots for music lovers far and wide.

But the new kid on the block TRNSMT is “the best show the city has ever had” for me.
The 2018 festival was held over two weekends in June and July.
It took over where T in the Park left off with big boots to fill. Headlining this year were The Killers, Adam Lambert and Queen, Liam Gallagher and Arctic Monkeys.

I joined the festivities on Friday, July 6 with Queen and Adam Lambert’s sizzling set as well as performances from Texas and Mason Hill.
The rock legends kicked off the second weekend of Glasgow Green’s hit music festival with the American idol frontman Lambert doing hero Freddy Mercury proud during a sensational main stage appearance.

Music fans had the chance to step back in time to Queen’s iconic 1985 Live Aid performance which changed the music industry forever with crowds bursting into song throughout the 90-minute set.
The TRNSMT main stage was transformed into an huge catwalk-style walkway – perfect for energetic Adam to strut his stuff and had festival revellers roaring with classics such as Bicycle Race, Radio Gaga and Fat Bottomed Girls.

It was an unforgettable performance by the rock legends and with the Glasgow sunset as a backdrop on a glorious, sunny night this will forever be a night, a gig, and festival that I will always remember.
