Really hoping we get Adam at Dan’s LoveLoud Festival next year! His presence was one thing I felt was missing from the show last weekend. They did give away tickets to QAL in Vegas though! Austin City Limits Music Festival and South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin would also be great for Adam. Tons of people with built in promotion... It has never made any sense to me that his management didn’t have Adam out doing these festivals. It just seems like a no brainer, especially early on, way to have gotten him exposed to a wider, younger audience than the Idol clique.

Why?
why does an artist have to wait a year before releasing new music when he/she leaves their existing management for a new management?.

Why? why does an artist have to wait a year before releasing new music when he/she leaves their existing management for a new management?. Most Contracts for any business product will have a non-compete clauses, unless they also have a key person clause and situation, then they are bound by the terms of the non-compete section. It’s not personal, it’s just business...

A non compete clause using his music generated when under the existing management but to make an artist wait a year before releasing NEW music, I don’t see the point. It seems an artist loses ‘current’ hot artist status. It seems it’s just makes it harder for artists except the Bieber’s, Swift, Underwood etc. idk. Just seems damaging to ones career

Most artists barely have the chance to say no. What else could they do, if they want a career in that business? So they are caught in these contracts and can only hope, that everything works out fine. If not... they risk to be forgotten. Many never get a chance of a new label anyway. It’s a shitty business.

Yes. It is the point but on the other side, what happens if the existing management doesn’t want their client as the artist hasn’t performed to their expectations. In other words. No sales, songs underperforming. I wish there was a clause in said case, the artist has the option to opt out I’m sure the existing management would be glad. As they have no intent in promoting that said artist. Oh well I’m just impatient having to wait another year. I want new music now. Queen is great but his music would be better imo
