milliemom and nightowl, thanks for the reminder of how fantastic he is with this song. And both have an added bonus of showing how absolutely stunning and beautiful this man is with the scruff, ha.

@lurleene You’re welcome! Meanwhile, Pharaoh is sunbathing with a (filter) crown and waiting for his daddy to come home. (pics are from Javi’s insta story)

lot's of speculation today! It seems to me Adam might be performing or at least presenting something during the Gala tomorrow night. The gala will be televised on 26 December. More info: www.kennedy-center.org/pages/specialevents/honorsOn December 2, 2018, the Kennedy Center will hold its 41st annual national celebration of the arts — The Kennedy Center Honors. Artists to be honored in 2018 include singer and actress Cher, composer and pianist Philip Glass, Country music entertainer Reba McEntire, and jazz saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter. This year, the co-creators of Hamilton — writer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, and music director Alex Lacamoire — will receive a unique Kennedy Center Honors as trailblazing creators of a transformative work that defies category. “The Kennedy Center Honors recognizes exceptional artists who have made enduring and indelible marks on our culture,” stated Kennedy Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein. “The world looks to America for its creative instincts and artistic courage,” said Kennedy Center President Deborah F. Rutter. “This year’s slate of Honorees represents the pinnacle of our nation’s originality and the rich mosaic of diverse perspectives and art forms that has come to define who we are as a people.” In a star-studded celebration hosted by 2017 Honoree Gloria Estefan on the Kennedy Center Opera House stage, the 2018 Honorees will be saluted by today's leading performers from New York, Hollywood, and the arts capitals of the world through performances and tributes. The Honors Gala will be recorded for broadcast on the CBS Network for the 41st consecutive year as a two-hour primetime special on Wednesday, December 26 at 8 p.m. ET. 2018 Kennedy Center Honors Executive Producers: Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss, White Cherry Entertainment, Founding Producer: George Stevens, Jr.

Not sure why WATC is a disappointment. Prob due to different expectations. But Watc is a big song. Adam always Nails it. And it really shows off his voice.

My guess is that Hamilton will close the show? I think that is the network's call.
Regarding any performance - we still only have one tweet from Toby Knapp, nothing else. And there is no mention of a performance.
However, Shosh was very specific about a second performance this year, and that it was in the US. There is no sign of anything else and it is almost December.
*** Am I the only one who is disappointed that Adam is performing WATC? Sounds like the close of the show song?
Don’t think it will be a ‘close of the show’ song. The format has been the same forever....i.e. a guest singer and with the professionals dancing on the floor to whatever song as per his previous performance of Another Lonely Night. Bit disappointed in song choice but as we say here in the north....owt is better than nowt. and Q3...it’s December already! Oh duh! 12/1 on the banner and thread title!
***
They are going to dance to WATC? That is more of a swaying song.
I am really not familiar with this program and clearly did not realize the taping schedule until today.
Well WATC is a good vocal showcase for him. Any bets on the tour announcement?

See I don't think it shows much in vocals at all, all I hear is the refrain. But I guess in the early part. And Adam does it better these days than he did in the beginning like at the VMAs so it's more fun to listen to now.

As Brian once said, when he was a mentor at Idol or X-Factor (I don’t remember): The song sounds so easy and everybody thinks, he can sing it. And most of the times they fail. Brian and Roger asked the contestants to look for Queen songs, that are easier to sing. Don‘t underestimate WATC. It’s a killer to sing in the right way. Unfortunately, listeners will only notice that, when a singer is failing...just go and ask Kris Allen 😉 (although he was clever and just let Adam sing the parts, that he couldn’t). PS: The refrain is the hardest part.
