The #asiankidsfashionweek IG video is something I could never bring myself to "like" - that type of stuff is just plain wrong for me. Other than that, I feel like a bit of an intruder today checking out Adam's likes. Not sure why. This is in no way meant as criticism toward you, bamafan . I don't always click but today I was curious.

The answer to “Who knew?” is: Anyone who’s seen or even heard much about the appeal of Queen + Adam Lambert on tour. (The plus-sign punctuation is theirs; they’ve been canny about how to make the “fill-in” singer’s name a full-disclosure addendum, even when it was Queen + Paul Rodgers for a spell in the 2000s.) The modern incarnation of the group doesn’t play a lot of gigs, but when they do, they usually play at 100 percent capacity. Pollstar has the numbers. The trade publication’s records show that from just 97 box-office reports they have on file for Queen + Adam Lambert from 2014 to the present — a relatively leisurely number of shows, indicating how little these veteran musicians need to tour — the group grossed $127 million. Their most recent arena show in Dublin, Ireland on July 8 brought in $1.3 million. Their most recent residency show at the more intimate Park Theatre in Las Vegas on Sept. 22 raked in $824,000, from a little more than 5,000 attendees. And you could ascribe these numbers to anticipation created by trailers for the movie, except for the fact that they were easily selling out Madison Square Garden on the east coast and the Forum on the west in 2014, back when a Queen biopic was just a twinkle (soon to turn to a tear) in Sacha Baron Cohen’s eye.And fans don’t just come to honor Mercury. Brian May was arguably always almost as big a draw for the rock crowd, and a smaller but sizable contingent — hand raised here — would walk away disgruntled if Roger Taylor did not take his spotlight moment to sing “I’m in Love With My Car.” But in former “American Idol” king Lambert, the surviving members have found the perfect balance of foil: someone who’s part nimbly operatic impressionist, part flamboyant-in-a-different-way draw in his own right. Mercury is obviously irreplaceable, and also, in a very practical way, replaceable — and of the maybe half-dozen or fewer people in the world you could imagine are well known and gaudy and huge-voiced enough to fill that role, Queen picked one of them. It is a happy fate that did not befall the Doors, Nirvana or any other loss-stricken mega-band you could think of. It also did not hurt that they waited a decent interval to soldier on. Great article! This guy got it right. And I highlighted this part also because this is something all of us QAL fans have all been aware of and so nice to see it in print. But there are some myths around the film itself, and one big one is that the movie somehow put the band back on the map. There are those who can’t imagine even the most popular musicians in the world being terribly relevant unless they’re being legitimized by the movies or television — let’s call them medium-ists — which results in a false narrative developing about Hollywood raising a moribund band from the dead.

But I am also bothered by the same thing that bothers bamafan and lurleene. Many who haven't been following QAL are under the impression that the movie alone has been the impetus for Queen's current success. The writer does address this and explains that Adam inclusion in Queen has been a MAJOR reason why they have been filling huge venues for over six years. I guess it's reasonable to assume that the movie has given them a current boost. But that six-year tidal wave cannot be denied. And it's largely due to the GFG. I assume this next tour will KICK MAJOR ASS and show many new fans what they have been missing. "What? You mean Queen has been touring with Adam for six years? I never knew that! Wow! He's really great! I just bought a ticket to the concert because I loved the movie!" (Or something like that.) I just want more people to discover ADAM. Period.

Congrats @adamlambert with 260 million streams on @spotify for #TheOriginalHigh (Deluxe Version) album! 🎉 Now 260,023,783 streams (+74,323)! Still doing around 70k streams on average per day! 🎧 #NowPlaying (10 January 2019) Wow. For some reason the strong streaming of TOH was below my radar. Average of 70k a day seems pretty good to me

Yes, thank you for all you do!! It is sooooo great to see some of the OG fans coming out of the woodwork to show support for skaschep et al. It is nice to see you are still around....I miss you and your posts....Perhaps we should designate a Call Out day...perhaps Adam's birthday? where everyone who still checks in periodically, or regularly, just lets everyone know they still love and follow our boy! skaschep -- To reiterate what Sophie B and others have been stating. “Thank you again for all you contribute here - and for your love and loyalty to Adam.” Scroll is your friend Thanks: The threads would not exist with out members who are available and or interested in posting. It does not matter if it is minimally or everyday. Thank gosh for all who post! If people quit or stop posting, there is no site to read. Some members take on huge initiatives for Adamtopia re: opening the thread each day with images, celebratory birthday cakes, stats, links for concert or appearance videos or media posts, spreadsheets, specialized commentaries, pictures, fan art, etc. etc. etc We have an amazing body of "knowledge" that hopefully hits on the interests of Adam fans. Merci! Why post?
There was a time when I was so frustrated/hurt by some a person’s quote on my comment that I pulled back from doing any posting for awhile but still read the thread as my lure of keeping up with Adam was an addiction. I started posting after a bit, and again a cutting quote comment popped up. I was pretty upset. An unsolicited personal message was sent to me by a “regular poster” to "console me" because of the post “quote” that even upset her because I was right about a topic…haha. That personal message changed my perspective. She said, not to let such comments get under my skin. (She knew the person and her personality.) WELL, that support helped me. She was the one who said to me what I said in the first paragraph. If people quit posting, there is no site to read. I thought on that for a few days and then stepped slowly back into at least a semi active post mode. There will always be a varying culture of views/perspectives about Adam. We will have "communication exchanges" but I am glad the moderators take control when needed and I very glad that member messaged me ---my “skin has become thicker”. Further to mzsue's comments on a Call out Day: Beyond a Call Out Day, which could be a cool thing to do---mszue's concept prompted me to re:contemplate --i s it even possible to cull the membership spreadsheet to more accurately reflect members who still have an interest in Adamtopia? Every day I think of Betty ---bless her soul---sourcing out celebratory cakes, for members who have not logged into Adamtopia since 2011. I have checked! Should these inactive types be deleted after a month/two warning? Are they even alive; do they view the site without a log in? The membership thread certainly has people who are keen and interested just choose not to post much but still log in to view the site. As an aside:
With the start up of Twitter, Instagram, snap chat, people like myself/4Everadam and many others who posted news to Planet Fierce, softly drifted away from news sourcing, to defer to folks like Gelly and others. Priorities and modes of finding data continue to change for those who post. Who knows, whether the lag time of Adam's solo work, or lack of interest in QAL, or life stuff may have contributed to fan's inactiveness on the site. With Adam's solo work pending, perhaps many inactive members will return to “active duty”.
