Lÿndsey Parker @lyndseyparker Honestly my only guess is until relatively recently they were probably seen as an oldies review act (in the US) and not relevant. Obviously that’s all changed now. Now they should be headlining Coachella, doing halftime, the works. Is that what Lyndsey thought of them when she went to their show? I never got the impression from the US reviews or the fans who attended and filled up arenas that they saw them that way. Nice! I don't agree with Lyndsey as some folks may have seen Queen as not relevant. Adam Lambert as lead singer, helped to make them very relevant . I do agree that now they are on top of the world I am not sure why there is such a mis-reading of Lindsey...she makes it quite clear, to me, that this was in the past but with the addition of Adam [and being the stan fan of Adam that she is, I assume she defines the factor she references when she says "Obviously that’s all changed now." I do not understand what the complaint is...she is being very supportive to the point that she says next: Now they should be headlining Coachella, doing halftime, the works. Frankly, pre Adam, she is likely right about how most of America viewed Queen in the last 20 or so years. How can anyone slag that!!!???

Adam liked this in Twitter a few days back. I wonder if he agrees. I would imagine so. I am sure Adam can relate. I don't have to feel "guilty" here as I am always in the moment and don't even take pictures. On the other hand... I do appreciate some of those precious videos. But I can imagine how disconnecting it must be for a performer to "interact" with iPhones.

I saw this last night and thought to myself, "Why, Adam? Is QAL performing with her at The Grammys?" Lol.

As we are still talking Super Bowl, I thought to bring these other point of views here....
Needless to say... Adam is not a huge football fan. But not every SB performer is.

Yesterday Q3 wrote: On the SB Halftime Show -- I have keep quiet for two days cause I thought it was sooooooooooooooo boring it was not worth posting about. But I think that they should just have QAL do it. The now obligatory gospel choir would make sense on STL, they could have marching bands do WWRY -- like 20 bands in mass, they have the best closing song ever WATC, they can work in some funk artists on ABTD (Nile Rogers and Chic since it is based on a Chic riff), etc. etc. I could go for a mass drum battle. And some astro stuff for Brian. And seriously who wouldn't love a live BoRhap in a packed stadium with a huge production?!?! ********* That is such a great idea, and the NFL folks make a mistake to ignore it!Every thing you said works. At Coachella last year Beyonce showed that the demographic NFL wants had a great time with a marching band. And the Beyonce songs were good with the band, but the Queen songs would be GREAT. IMO Edit: Sorry! I tried to have this video start at 5:51, but it didn't work. Didn't want all the screaming at the beginning!

A revue of the halftime show that I agree with, and I usually LOVE the show so it has NOTHING to do with my love for QAL: Review: Thank U, Next: Maroon 5's halftime show was basic There's a number of words you could use to describe Maroon 5's halftime show performance: Empty. Boring. Basic. Sleepy. Skippable. Unfulfilling. Unnecessary. And those who came to help save the day didn't do their jobs: If you blinked you would have missed that Travis Scott and Big Boi performed. Even the gospel choir singer was a struggle — clearly they let the wrong one sing lead Sunday.... www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/review-thank-u-next-maroon-5s-halftime-show-was-basic/ar-BBT8naN?ocid=spartanntp

Rema Vineyard @remavineyard I'd love your thoughts on why Queen has never done the halftime show? Lÿndsey Parker @lyndseyparker Honestly my only guess is until relatively recently they were probably seen as an oldies review act (in the US) and not relevant. Obviously that’s all changed now. Now they should be headlining Coachella, doing halftime, the works. Let's face it. I do not want to take anything away from Adam, but BoRhap has majorly introduced Queen music to younger audiences and due to the movie they are more relevant than ever! Adam has helped build momentum of course.

She may have meant exactly what you think she meant but that is not what she said. But good to know that she thinks QAL have been great the past 6 years. Everyone is on the same page. Queen with the addition of Adam have brought them back and the movie made the attention and demand even bigger.

Knowing that Adam dislikes football made the performance on James Corbin (SP??) funny to me. But, hey, half-time at the SuperBowl!? Hell, yeah! I don't think it matters to Adam really - huge exposure, unique experience, I think he'd probably LOVE the game for that 20 minutes or so.

No one picks acts for the SB based on whether or not they like football. If QAL is offered a chance to play the SB Adam would take it. He performed in Singapore and the Formula 1 races as a solo artist then again with Queen. No one thought he was into race car driving. And he is not going to restrict himself from opportunities even if others would want to restrict him based on their own hangups. Like the idiots who were complaining because "Welcome To The Show" was being played on NHL promotion. Did they really think a gay singer singing a song was going to change anything?
