I was listening to the radio last night and "Killer Queen" came on by 5 Seconds of Summer. My radio station is always slow to play Adam (if they play him at all) when he releases new music. My bet is if Adam had recorded this they still would not play it. Ugh! I did not realize that those songs were going to be released to radio but I guess they have been.
Also at the Grammy's, it seemed Gaga was trying to turn her song into a rock song and rock performance. Perhaps Rami winning all these awards playing Freddie gave her a reason to try to upstage (and show she could do it better) someone who was not even on stage and only playing a rock star, lol.
Also with the Grammy nominations, perhaps if Adam can get his new music in the alt or rock categories (most of it nominated is not hard rock anyway) he will have a better chance at a nomination and/or win. The competition there is less and he can sure do a better job than most if not all in those categories. So many view him as a rock star anyway. And TBH, to see Rickey Martin and Timberlake (SB) still with all the dancers surrounding them is not very inspiring or impressive, imo. It just seems like the same old thing that they always did and now being done by the early twenty somethings. But it worked so big for them in the past with radio play, awards and award show performances that I guess it is hard for them to give it up. But I don't see any growth.

I may be the only one here who hasn't heard of Brandi Carlile....lol. I live under a rock. I did see all the raves about her vocals on Twitter....so now since Adam was impressed, I'll have to check her out.
I looked her up.....she's 37 and has released 7 albums.
Carlile's music through the years has been categorized in several genres, including pop, rock, alternative country, and folk. She said of her style, "I've gone through all sorts of vocal phases, from pop to blues to R&B, but no matter what I do, I just can't get the country and western out of my voice
Just listened to The Joke on Youtube...it's really good. Powerful song. I like her voice. I'll have to watch her performance on the Grammys now.
