skaschep Did you bring over the finnish press or shall I? ☺️ I still have tons of Tweets liked. No idea if Finnish press is there. So go ahead. Busy at work at the moment.

Looked up Adam on Yahoo and on google.. mention of Cher song and Oscars no mention of ELVIS performance.. wonder why The Elvis Special didn't do well in the ratings. Some like my family started to watch it then got bored long before Adam came on. I don't think millennials are that interested in Elvis despite the 'staged' audience. Adding Shawn Mendes and Post Malone should have increased viewers but for some reason didn't. It seems the country music fans despite all their favorites heavily featured didn't show up either. Not surprising imo... you got to be a really super fan to tune into a 2 hour long program and stay there just for one or may be two songs by your favorite... and those who passed on it were the lucky ones,as it was a general snooze fest with (for me) three exceptions: JLo trying too hard, Adam being fun and on point, and Post Malone being alive... as for for the young uns’ attitude (as per my home “survey”): Elvis who? ..Oh, Elvis Presley..Really? who cares?..and who watches TV anyway? ... they won’t be watching Oscars either ...lol

Thanks. Lots of interesting back story on both Blue Suede Shoes and Heartbreak Hotel that I found in that source of all sources, Wikipedia. Historically RCA likes it's new artists making new recordings of old hits so not surprising that's what they wanted Adam to do for #3.

Hard disagree. This was for the most part seen as the Freddie movie... Even Brian and Roger went back and forth about it. And Rami's been thanking Freddie specifically etc. It makes more sense to do more with Freddie than not tbh. I don't think that anybody would want to turn the QAL Oscars performance into a Freddie love fest. Why? What would the purpose be? "Bohemian Rhapsody" was a clever title for the movie and probably a reason why many moviegoers were curious enough to check it out - it hints at the mystery and power behind Queen's music and their former frontman. But let's keep in mind that it's about more than Freddie nostalgia. Queen is still playing and quite sought after lately, and all this would not happen without Adam. He is allowed to shine a bit too, as Brian and Roger need him to keep doing what they love. Because the film is a nostalgic Freddie love fest and the Oscars are celebrating the film. You can say there is a big swell of Queen still performing etc. and at most festivals, etc. I would agree and see your point. But this is one bit that still is almost exclusively about the past and Freddie's life. That's what the movie is about. *shrug* Makes sense to me.

Sorry, I might have gotten a bit defensive regarding the current frontman. I have no issue with all aspects of the success of Bohemian Rhapsody to get recognized. Freddie of course is a big part of it. Still, I am primarily an Adam fan, and selfishly I want to see him shine as much as possible.

I also get wanting to see him shine...and I've gotten past that a bit at the concerts - but in certain times (and this would seem to me to be an obvious one) it makes sense to showcase the band they are celebrating rather than the band they are. But no harm no foul
