Adam Lambert of Queen and Adam Lambert perform live on stage at The O2 Arena on July 2, 2018 in London.
Ever since his debut on season 8 of American Idol, pop-rock superstar Adam Lambert has become known for his electrifying live performances. Whether he’s performing solo or as the new frontman of Queen, the superstar singer delivers incredible performances every time he walks onto the stage.
With a long list of Lambert’s incredible live moments, it can be hard to suss out the best of the best. So we’re here to help: Here are eight of Adam Lambert’s greatest live performances to date.
“Bohemian Rhapsody,” American Idol audition
Even before he rocked the stage with Queen, Lambert was showing the world he was up to the task -- his stunning audition for season 8 of American Idol still stands as one of the show’s best. Remind us again why he didn’t win?
“Ghost Town,” Logo Trailblazer Honors
There is no doubt that “Ghost Town” is one of Lambert’s greatest songs, and his performance at the then-Logo Trailblazer Honors (it’s now the VH1 Trailblazer Honors) lived up to that moniker. Complete with sickening backup dancers, a full-on catwalk and incredible vocals, this performance proved once again Lambert’s passion for live performance.
“We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions," The 2019 Oscars
Adam Lambert is more than comfortable as Queen’s latest frontman, which was clear at the 2019 Oscars, where the rock outfit kicked off the ceremonies with this rousing mashup of “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions.”
“A Change Is Gonna Come,” American Idol finale
Even in a night where Lambert performed with both Kiss and Queen, the star’s subdued performance of the Sam Cooke classic “A Change Is Gonna Come” managed to be his best. Focusing on his vocal power, Lambert blew away the judges -- and everyone else for that matter.
“For Your Entertainment,” 2009 American Music Awards
After losing out on Idol, Lambert decided to show the world exactly what they missed out on with this shocking performance at the 2009 AMAs. Complete with leather-clad men on leashes, an elaborate set and Lambert’s signature glam-rock fashion, the performance left audiences everywhere in pure awe.
“Fever,” VEVO Presents
This simple-yet-seductive performance of For Your Entertainment B-side “Fever” shows off Lambert’s sexy side, as he flirts his way through his various backup dancers, all while a crowd of fans scream his name.
“Believe,” The 41st Annual Kennedy Center Honors
Listen, when Cher gives you a standing ovation after you perform her song, you have done something very right. Lambert’s effortless vocals and natural showmanship made him the perfect person to honor the Goddess of Pop, and even she can agree with that.
“Feel Something,” studio session
In his latest live performance, Lambert stripped away all the glitz and glamour of his usual live performances and delivered this subtle, moving rendition of his new song “Feel Something.” It’s this kind of touching performance that makes you fall in love with him all over again.
