I think, that Adam won over many Queen fans. Most know about Adam‘s solo career and at least check his music out. The others are simply not interested. If someone, who attended a QAL concert, doesn‘t check Adam out, this someone is not interested. Adam carries 80% of these shows. There is no way around him. But as much as we love him: Not every person is attracted by Adam. Not by his personality or/and not by his voice. You can‘t force that. To be honest: 90% of the Glamberts , that I got to know during the last 4 years here in Europe, became Fans through Queen. If Adam‘s New solo music is attractive to other Queen fans, they will buy it. There are some discussions about it from time to time on QueenOnline. You will be surprised, but most of the regulars there do know Adam‘s solo music. Some buy the albums. The consence over all is, that they simply are not into Pop and EDM. It’s that simple. I so agree with you. A lot of people are just looking for more substance than Pop and EDM. That is what his longtime fans have been saying. Adam has so much more on all his albums but that is not the impression that is out there. Some think that dance/pop is all that he has. That is the narrative that has been pushed for some reason. His best work, and there is a lot of it, is always hidden. I really hope that won't happen again but I'm not so sure. There are a lot of potential fans out there who stopped going to the clubs once they married or hit 30. It doesn't mean we don't like a dance tune now and then but many want more substance. Adele, Ledgend and Sam have tapped into that audience big. Don't ever want Adam to be Adele/Sam/Ledgend. I think he is better conveying emotion than either but in a more interesting and exciting way. "Believe" "Girl Crush" "Feel Something" "There I Said It" (when he performed it live) had jaws dropping. Then when you add in rock and funk and the blues, he does it all and better than most. But who the hell even knows that (besides his fans) when it come to his solo career? Why leave it on the stage with Queen? Every time I see an article that calls Adam a dance/pop artist I think of Selena, Demi, Gaga, Bieber, Troye, Derulo etc. and a stage of dancers. How did he get trapped in that model? He not only sounds different but he even looks different. He looks like a tall and sexy rock star. A man and not a boy. What an absolute babe he was on the Oscar stage, lol. Why haven't they taken advantage of that? Even Gaga has managed to break out of that and get nominations where she is not competing with Taylor, Ariana and Camilla all the time. I really hope they will try to reach a broader audience with Adam's new music and it is not more of the same. He deserves better. lurleene, I could write a big long response to your post, but you pretty much said it all. I totally agree. I just wish Adam was able to create his own solid musical identity that he could build upon to attract those outside the fandom. We fans know him, he love him, he get him. We know his depth and his diversity with music. We've heard what he can do. I know there are non-fans out there who, given the chance, would get him, too, and climb onboard with us. They just don't hear his music.

I have a feeling that Adam's management is working on establishing his musical identity more solidly, but it takes time. That's why I think it is smart to drop new songs every so often along with appearances and see what the reception is, and go from there. I think the past few months have been a great indicator of that process. I too hope that Adam will go more into the soulful "rocker"/gifted singer direction if that's what he can identify with. He should have learned by now what gets him the biggest praises. I agree that Adam has some tremendous songs on his albums that should have gotten more exposure, but I am hopeful that these treasures will get discovered as Adam increases his fandom further. I really like the sensual, emotive stuff, and as you @lurleene mentioned "Heavy Fire" yesterday, I too absolutely love that song. That track, followed by sizzling hot "After Hours" is just golden for me. Definitely two standout songs for me on TOH, along with the title track.

I had never heard anyone say one word about "Heavy Fire." I would be on my treadmill working out to Adam's TOH cd and I would melt whenever that song came on. It was so beautiful and haunting. That song, TISI and TOH (That GMA performance was everything) were my favorites.

Haha! Different strokes for different folks. I love Get Down Make Love. Adam really makes it sexy, IMO, esp. when he gets down on the floor. He really steams it up. Oh well. To each his own. Don’t get me wrong: I did like GDML. But I remember sitting in the midst of the audience in Munich and seeing some puzzled faces around me. The silence after the song was pretty deafening, just a few people were clapping (compared to all the other songs). I actually believe, it doesn’t matter to most people in the audiences, if QAL played Adam songs or Queen’s deep cuts. Let’s face it: The absolute majority only knows Queen’s Greatest Hits. But they have 14 albums with round about 150 songs. How many of them do you know? QAL has performed about 40 different Queen songs (I just checked that). I bet with you, that they could play at least 60 other Queen songs and most people in the audience would have no idea, if that‘s a Queen or an Adam song. Because Queen never had one sound. And the audience would sit there wondering and pretty silent. That’s why Brian and Roger keep to the hits. They have done so since the early 80s (yes, even with Freddie they were a Greatest Hits band. The Setlist in the mid 80s looked almost the same as today). So it’s no wonder, that even many fans only know the hits. Just check out Queen’s „Ride the Wild Wind“ from the album Innuendo. That could also be an Adam song, if QAL played it... youtu.be/JlRyk4CXXCITo sum it up: Silent audiences aren‘t Adam’s fault (or his song’s). Some hardcore Queen fans did actually really enjoy a new song 😁. The energy of an audience is always the highest, when all the people know a song and can sing along. I could get behind Ride the Wild Wind, it's one of my favourite songs and it would really suit Adam. Hopefully there are some die hard fans at the shows who know more than just the hits but yeah probably nowhere near enough to keep the energy up. I'd love them to do some deeper cuts, there's loads of songs I'd love to hear Adam do but a silent audience is definitely not a good thing so the hits it will be 😢.

@drbrianmay: Good Morning folks. This is from The Zen Book by Daniel Levin. This is Page 1, and I can’t get past it. To me, this is a very hard thing to do, and I can feel it’s at the centre of my my… http://instagr.am/p/BvHEWRaFFaL ...and then there is something called narcissism... we all know how THAT looks. I feel for Dr. Bri.. .I see his endless selfdoubt being a result of his deep intellect ... Ha ha -- you beat me to it. I can definitely see some flaws in The Zen book statement. I get the feeling that Brian has perfectionist traits -- I expect Adam does too.

Can we please stop talking as if the dance/pop image is something that was forced upon Adam? I find it very offensive to Adam to be honest. If there is anything he chose himself it is exactly that. All the music he put out is Pop. All his singles were accompanied by Remixes with DJ's chosen by Adam himself. Even if those two songs on Trespassing weren't forced upon him he would have put out Cuckoo and probably Trespassing as singles. Those songs are Pop leaning to dance. The whole Trespassing album was Pop (perhaps a bit ahead of time) and he had the most say in that album of all his music. His collabs are also all dance/pop when he worked with Avicii, Steve Aoki and Tritonal. Adam himself asked the DJ Ali Payami to give Ghost Town the Euro dance treatment.
I know a lot of you don't really like that music, but don't put something on Adam that isn't true. In fact it wouldn't even surprise me if the new album will still be Pop with all kinds of influences. Adam's music taste was formed in the 90's which was the high area of dance and pop. As a 90's person myself I don't think you can take that club kid out of Adam even if he wanted to.
And yes there will be Rock influences, Punk, Blues, Jazz and whatever. But the more I think about it the more likely I find it that the album will still be Pop. But of course I'll let him surprise me if I'm wrong. I'm open to anything that's for sure. So far I haven't really disliked anything Adam put out. Of course there are favorites, but I hardly skip any songs.
