I think we are all capable of expressing our opinions about Adam's music and what types that he does that we like best. He is very diverse so some will like one type of music over another. However, no one is in charge of anyone's preference but their own. I would love to see Adam get music out that does very well on radio and finds more diverse fans. He has said he was moving away from some of the past music release types and I hope he does. If he does not, I will still support him. But as long as he does different types of music (most of it not dance/pop, imo. WWFM was his biggest US hit and that was more pop/rock), we are all free to express the types and songs we like the best. And he is free to put out what he wants. But would love for non-fans to know he has other good music. There is a lot of music with great substance and feeling on his albums that only fans have heard. See no reason why we can't hope that they find out about it. But can't wait to see what he comes up with for the new music. I adore "Feel Something" and will love it no matter what else he decides to release as a single. I expect to like the new single as well too.

The Box office results for BoRhap have been updated with the weekend results. Adding about 4 million total again with most of it from Foreign. It's getting closer and closer to 900 mil, but it's going slowly right now. Total Lifetime Grosses Domestic: $215,666,836 24.5% + Foreign: $664,051,169 75.5% = Worldwide: $879,718,005 www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=main&id=bohemianrhapsody.htmYa.. domestic is slowing down, only 256 theaters and next week could be even less... BUT now China is starting on the 22nd! It’ll be very interesting to see how that goes... i looked up Chinese movie industry - looks like it is as big if not bigger than here in the US... if the movie is distributed widely we can see a Billion at some point... something else to learn on this Adam voyage.. one of the articles on the subject variety.com/2018/film/asia/china-box-office-global-biggest-first-quarter-2018-1202742159/

Can we please stop talking as if the dance/pop image is something that was forced upon Adam? I find it very offensive to Adam to be honest. If there is anything he chose himself it is exactly that. All the music he put out is Pop. All his singles were accompanied by Remixes with DJ's chosen by Adam himself. Even if those two songs on Trespassing weren't forced upon him he would have put out Cuckoo and probably Trespassing as singles. Those songs are Pop leaning to dance. The whole Trespassing album was Pop (perhaps a bit ahead of time) and he had the most say in that album of all his music. His collabs are also all dance/pop when he worked with Avicii, Steve Aoki and Tritonal. Adam himself asked the DJ Ali Payami to give Ghost Town the Euro dance treatment. I know a lot of you don't really like that music, but don't put something on Adam that isn't true. In fact it wouldn't even surprise me if the new album will still be Pop with all kinds of influences. Adam's music taste was formed in the 90's which was the high area of dance and pop. As a 90's person myself I don't think you can take that club kid out of Adam even if he wanted to. And yes there will be Rock influences, Punk, Blues, Jazz and whatever. But the more I think about it the more likely I find it that the album will still be Pop. But of course I'll let him surprise me if I'm wrong. I'm open to anything that's for sure. So far I haven't really disliked anything Adam put out. Of course there are favorites, but I hardly skip any songs. Thanks for this, I too find it a bit discourteous. I also agree that Adam's label frustrations were likely regarding the singles, not the style of the album or what genre he wanted, which was pop. If he wanted to make an Adele or Sam type album, I'm sure the album would have loved that and probably might have been an easier sell. Obviously he had some disagreements with the labels, but a lot was also his vision too. He was in the studio, the writing sessions, etc.

That’s the music, he chose to produce, while RCA wanted to push him more into the rock edge, if I remember correctly. I‘m also with you, that the next album will most probably still be pop. With other influences, but pop. Nothing, that Adam has shown indicated something else, IMO. What I don’t agree with is your first sentence. I didn’t get that from the discussion today.

Thanks. I know you agree with most. The first sentence is a feeling I just got. Not only from today, but just the general talk about in what direction some people want him to go. Sentences like "more substance than Pop / EDM" and "That is the narrative that has been pushed for some reason" triggered me I guess. As if his Pop songs don't have any substance. What I like the most about Adam is that his songs (even though they are pop) have more substance than the standard Pop you find on the radio. That's most likely also why he's sometimes so hard to sell. Even with Feel Something he's using lyrics that are not easy. There are always some sentences you need to think about. He's not the person to make easy bubblepop. To then put his music in the same category as the bubblepop on the radio made me feel I needed to defend him for some reason.

I might be In the minority but I don’t care what type of music he is planning on... I LOVE the voice, as long as he is singing I am usually happy... I also know any song he had a writing input in is going to be excellent! there are only three songs I can’t stand, all of them are not his (BTIKM, NCOE, WWFM).
And I agree, Adam said he loved Pop and Dance/EDM... May be his taste has changed/evolved, but I see no reason to expect a pure non-pop album...

We can only guess the direction Adam is going until we hear more, but he did say he wants to go back to the music that made him fall in love with music wich was 70s rock. He did say more guitars. I hope that is still true. Someone mentioned Lucy yesterday and it hit me, it's my gem. I just insanely LOVE guitars atm, totally obsessed. Loved a clip of Shawn playing a guitar solo his tour just a few days ago, I'm hooked on that snippet Adam shared and Cody Simpson released a song "part the sea" with awesome guitar and I really like it.
