I wonder wouldn't he have to get license to even play queens music? Yes, but for live concerts it is easy to get. Public performance licenses are relatively easy to get -- different that synchronization licenses.
The Ultimate Queen Celebration Tour is doing really well -- playing 30 dates in the US, mostly sold out theaters. He is not close to Adam in presence or magnificence. And he is certainly no Freddie. But he is a good Freddie impersonator, and that seems to be doing better for him than his own music.

Regarding Marc Martel and QE -- I do not believe it was ever clear if he left or if he was booted out of QE.
But MM posted on his Facebook account it was a scheduling issue...
Dear Queen Extravaganza fans,
I am disappointed that I cannot be with you on the upcoming QUEX tours. The simple fact is that, as much as we both tried to make it work, QE and I could not get our 2018 schedules to line up.
The Brian May/Queen statement was less clear.
I get the impression that Brian and Roger never got along that well with Marc -- but they both are very commercial and QE was good business.

Words do matter. This slur appears to be an internet hiphop meme. Javi posted it six years ago so it's not likely he will take it down. What concerns me more is the trigger those words had to cause you recall your time in the "Deep South" as if racism and sexism don't happen any where else. At any rate, Javi found it funny. I don't beleive he racist or sexist. I believe Javi grew up in Spain. He likely was not very cognizant of what constitutes a racial slur in the U.S., especially not at age 15/16. I'm in my 60's and I would have no clue what constitutes a racial slur in any country outside of the U.S. Heck, it took me thinking about it for a while before I even got the significance of the dog being white. (I'm not saying the term would be acceptable in other countries, just that it was rarely used in other countries, as far as I know.) And it seems obvious that Javi was commenting on the sexual implications of the picture and not on the racial slur printed in the picture. And since Javi was very likely already into boys at that age, he was likely interpreting the picture in a gay sense, i.e., he likely did not see the sexist implications.

Just found this video comparing MM and Adam singing Queen songs. It has them doing the same phrases from the same songs, live, so it is the best comparison video I have seen. Since they are mostly singing the same notes, some folks may say they sound very similar. To my ear, however, singing the same notes and phrases, back to back, emphasizes the difference in their voices and technique. 1. MM's voice sounds more tinny, like I am listening on a cheap player with little bass or midrange, or like listening to a little transistor radio back in the old days. Adam's voice is full, rich, round, and resonant, like a high end stereo system. 2. MM's pitch is if-fy at times. Generally he is on pitch, but then there are notes that are slightly to cringingly off. Adam is spot on, pitch wise. 3. Adam sounds more polished, more consistent, more in control. His mastery of vocal technique really shows. MM, not so much. Good for a rock singer, I guess, but not consistent in tone or control. Which may make MM sound more like he is doing a live performance, and Adam like it is recorded in a studio.... even tho' they are both live. This may be why some folks prefer MM. He sounds less... perfect. I don't mean to slam MM. He is very successful doing what he is doing. But, when set in contrast with Adam's vocals, there were times that I actually winced. I would not enjoy seeing him in concert. What do y'all think? youtu.be/KN-x1keXiJ0I agree, all these people saying he should be fronting the band and he's better than Adam are listening to his one take vids from his home studio and even then there's no comparison to me but listen to him in a live show and it's a different story, he struggles in the high register, his 5th Octave is awful and screechy IMO and he often sounds constricted and like he's trying to catch his breath. He's already scheduled about 93 shows for this year so far and apparently adding more, can't imagine what he'll sound like by the end of it, this vid is from one of his final shows last year and he'd done a lot less shows than that according to one of his fans - youtu.be/CVuKIWhwgqI?t=869I cued it to Hammer to Fall, it sounds absolutely awful to my ears and he sounds as if he's really struggling to me. He had a break over Xmas but if he's doing that many shows this year I can't see his voice holding up. As for stage presence I can't imagine for a second him with Bri & Roger, there's no way I would go to see them and especially after seeing Adam, the thing some complain about, him being flamboyant, camp, not sticking to the original phrasing and riffing etc are all the things that work brilliantly IMO, with Marc it would be like monochrome vs High Definition, just not even in the same orbit for me.
