So Queen doesn't have an interest in this play? Financial or otherwise? They are promoting it on their site. I'm more inclined to want to see it if it's sanctioned by Queen.
It is sanctioned it just doeasn't tell their story. It's almost like a fairy tale play based on some of the Queen songs. Saw it in Toronto when it did a run at the Royal Alexandra Theatre a few years back and thought it was good.

Old hat. They are the creators, used to oversee the final auditions in the beginning. Brian often visits premieres (or dernieres) and plays as special guest with them. By the way: I now remember, that Adam had at one point auditioned for the role of „Galileo“, the male lead for that musical, when it played in Las Vegas. He didn’t make it üto the later rounds, so that Brian and Roger didn‘t get to see him. Such a fail!

Can you imagine being the person/people who made that decision? Ooops!

They have so many business investments related to Queen...hard to keep up. In addition to their individual projects.

And do I remember right that Brian mentioned in a much later interview, once QAL was already established, that "heads should have fallen" for not casting Adam. Well, in the end I think it worked out perfectly anyways, just the way it was meant to be.

Ooops! I remember an interview, where Roger was asked about that. He couldn’t believe it. But that Vegas stint of the musical didn’t really work anyway. It only lasted for a short time, because it didn’t sell. They were not happy with it. I‘m not sure, but is this new tour the first time, that the musical is back in the US?

WWRY toured the US a few years ago, my local theater had it in May 2014 , but not sure when the tour started. It never ran at a theater on Broadway in NYC though. It was also on one of the cruise ships, Royal Caribbean I think.

I think I saw and read this a few years ago, but it just showed up in my inbox from an academic service, along with the ability to download and save....I assume as I allowed them to upload an old article of mine. Nevertheless, there may be some on this site that would be interested in reading it. It has been included in a volume from a series: Queering Paradigms III. The title is:
"Homonational, Queer Nation, Glam Nation: Adam Lambert and American National Imagery Anne Kustritz by Anne Kustritz, Universiteit Utrecht"
I don't see a way to save it as an attachment here so I suspect I would have to email it to you. If someone knows how to post an attachment please let me know....when I post the link I have, pre-download, it is right to my personal email...I am a little loath to do that on the public site.
