OT: There is a nice write-up in the Houston Press about their hometown Idol contestant Uche. Very nice to see them talk about his performance style and abilities, instead of focusing on his sexuality. He mentioned his bi status at the beginning of Idol but Idol seems to be allowing the main focus to be on his talent and performances. Most (other than LP) seem to be letting his talent, and not his sexuality, take center stage. They also did not compare him to Adam. I think it is important for contestants to establish their own identities and not get trapped into comparisons to Idols who made big names for themselves, on and after the show. We have come a long way in the past ten years, haven't we? I kept saying this to my DH the past few weeks when watching Idol.

But to Idol's credit, they did try to keep the focus on Adam's great talent. He was something they had never seen on the show and I think they wanted him to win. But outside forces had another agenda, lol. Tho, I'm not sure a win would have done much, if anything, for Adam's career. However, I think his win would have been beneficial for the perception of Idol. They did not get anything, in the form of bragging rights, from a KA win. In fact, they hardly mentioned him after the season was over. And he was never included when they were highlighting Idol success stories then or now. But Adam was always right there with Carrie, Kelly, Jhud and Daughtry.

I looked up "pensive" in the dictionary, and there's this picture.

I sure hope the Playmobil movie makes a good showing at the box office. Would give Adam some nice added attention. I imagine we'll see some tv promo cropping up as the time grows near. There are so many imaginative, cleverly written animated films out there now. They appeal to adults as well as kids. I hope this one does well. Could lead to other opportunities for Adam.

I was hesitant to respond to your post originally as I am very much over the whole Idol drama that happened 10 years ago, but I agree that it was pretty much the outside forces that didn't make it easy for Adam. Idol itself...I will forever be thankful that the show gave us Adam, in fact I still go back once in a while and watch those show stopping performances. A lot of work still needs to be done, but I truly believe that it is way more acceptable and rather "normal" nowadays for a contestant to be queer. On the other hand, no one should feel the need to out themselves unless they want to. I love the show this year btw.

Look at Adam's new house background. All new furniture as well. From Javi's IG story rotated.
