I just got in for Melbourne w/o waiting. Got front row at end of thrust for $966! Too bad I'm not going. lol. I just looked at flights. If I bought now, could get for $1,300. That's about the same price I paid for going to the UK. So tempting! The 24-30 hours of flying+layovers does not sound great. 8-9 hrs to go to the UK.

I am so glad I went to OZ and NZ for the TOH tour. Had always wanted to visit those two countries and now I can mark it off my bucket list. ETA: The flight was terribly long. I had to fly east to ATL and then to LA where we had a many hour layover and then 15 hrs to Sydney. Was up for 24 hours....can't sleep on a plane. London is a breeze compared to that.

Flight still counts as a connection if the leftover is less than 24hrs. So I'd find a nice, long connection, get a hotel near the beach in LA, chill for a day, then tackle the 2nd leg of air travel to OZ. Much less exhausting than doing it in one go.
