Watching the show again and I really love that they used the walk down the stairs from Feeling Good and the Whole Lotta Love performance rather than rehashing Mad World. Because it makes the point that there were more awesome moments besides Mad World which is the one the media latched on to at the time and rode to death.

Because it makes the point that there were more awesome moments besides Mad World which is the one the media latched on to at the time and rode to death. I was glad that they picked those two songs also. We don't see FG all that much. I think I've seen Change Is Gonna Come more often. Anyway, WLL was a great surprise, too. Loved both choices. I think Mad World stands out for many reasons, one of which is that it was the first performance on Idol that Simon gave a standing ovation to. The doc was a delight from beginning to end. Really gave the whole journey a wonderful perspective. Adam fits in so perfectly. Once again, I loved the tweets that appeared after the show, many sayin that they hadn't followed Adam, didn't know him, but were now new fans. I'd say that the doc was a real coup for Adam.

twitter.com/jtoney72/status/1123335735443062784James Toney @jtoney72 I knew he was talented and liked his music but I have an entirely new perspective of @adamlambert and a new appreciation for Queen after watching The Show Must Go On: Queen. I agree that there are few people, if any, that can do what he does vocally.

twitter.com/JeffGarlick/status/1123056368964067329JeffGarlick @jeffgarlick I'll be honest, I've NEVER heard @adamlambert front for @queenwillrock until tonight's #Queen documentary on ABC because I never wanted to hear anyone but Freddie sing those songs but @drbrianmay & @officialrmt chose VERY wisely! twitter.com/JeffGarlick/status/1123310657678520321JeffGarlick @jeffgarlick When I posted that I'd never seen @adamlambert front for @queenwillrock until last night's #ShowMustGoOn special on ABC, I expected a few hate tweets out of misunderstanding. I NEVER expected 82 likes and 55 retweets ALL positive! Thanks to ALL who showed me understanding! #Queen

But regarding the AMA performance, what gave me chills was the comment "it was right out of the Freddie Mercury playbook". Don't know why that affected me but it was like an other worldly chill. Maybe because it framed it differently for you, and gave it a wider and legitimate context. I think many Americans thought, because of the backlash, that it was wrong of Adam to do that, when really it wasn't. The American media's reaction was wrong. That's exactly the right thing for an artist to do - be a rebel, be himself, and broaden the viewers concepts and horizons. Agree (finally). Adam has more then educated me and I am glad for it. The backlash was brutal. I didn't watch that network for over 2 years. And, as more and more of their own personnel came out, I got even more pissed. Where were they during the backlash? But, the deal is, they did come out. And, I can't help but think that Adam was instrumental in initiating that process.

Think I enjoyed it just as much if not more the second viewing. Is there any kind of category for the Emmys or Grammys for TV Documentaries?
