I just got here and I haven't read through the last two threads yet, however I need to vent. How is it possible that Adam's IG announcement about his GMA Summer Concert Series performance has only 32K likes?? In comparison, his "Insomnia" post with his naked shoulders and tousled hair has close to 80K likes and the Javi "LUV U" announcement has close to 130K likes, not that I have a problem with them. Not at all, actually, I liked them too. But really, shouldn't his fandom be more excited about a sign that his solo career is kicking in again?? Even the the latest "MidTwenties RockNRoll Shit" post with the dead animal on his shoulders has more likes. WHAT'S GOING ON?? I'm really frustrated. Adam to perform at GMA again is such great news - he says he "Could not be more excited..." but where are his fans cheering him on? I've also noticed that the head shot selfies always do better than performance pics. Instagram is all about looking good and almost never about promo. I guess a lot of his followers follow him because he looks good. Not for his music. I guess, it’s simply how Instagram ticks. I would have almost skipped that post myself. Because IG is about liking pictures. And I click on like, if I like a picture, because it’s beautiful, cute, hot , funny or whatever. And announcements usually don’t fall into that category. Therefore many fans and casual followers tend not to like these posts. It’s the same for other artists.

Thank you so much for the lovely cakes, Betty. Chocolate and raspberries - yum!! I'm so glad you are doing better, and are posting these beautiful birthday cakes again - your time and effort are much appreciated! It's always a treat to see these goodies on Page One - a great way to start the day. Also, Lady M, thanks for your beautiful picture today in honor of our birthdays. So happy to be enjoying your wonderful posts and pictures again! I'm a horse nut, and finally the Kentucky Derby has fallen on my birthday. It has missed the past several years due to leap years. A great way for me to celebrate. My DH and I attended the Kentucky Derby twenty years ago on my 50th birthday - now that was a very memorable experience that I will never forget! The mint juleps were SO good! Maybe attend again on my 75th? twitter.com/Jaksox/status/1124809291054055429

I definitely had my reality check on the "superficiality" of social media this morning but proof yet again that looks do matter. Anyways, on and upward!!! nightowl , good to get your feedback as well about IG being all about "visual appeal"... "I guess, it’s simply how Instagram ticks. Horses were impeded, yeah,, but the one who was handed the victory wasn’t really affected. The best horse didn’t win...
