People, have you Shazamed NE? How come I see only 461 Shazams? I guess either I don't "get" Shazam, or it's being used in ways it was not originally intended to be used (and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it's the former rather than the latter). As I understood it, one would Shazam a song in order to identify it - to get the title and artist for a song one is not familiar with. Right now, the only ways to hear NE are via the video, streaming or downloads, and in all those cases there's no need to identify the song. At this point it isn't easy to just stumble across it and wonder "What is this?" It's the same reason I haven't understood the directive to repeatedly Shazam Adam's music. Doesn't the application recognize that? Why would one Shazam the same song over and over? Unless you're Drew Barrymore in "50 First Dates", how would that not be an obvious and likely unsuccessful attempt to artificially inflate apparent interest? Being a fan is so much more demanding than it used to be. LOL

LOL! My mother used to think someone smoking pot meant you were a drug addict. Adam wants to spread a message of joy and love in a sultry manner. That is a good thing for those open to the message. But everyone will take away from it what they will. I'm going to enjoy the music and hope it is a success for him. Still don't enjoy the video (for benign reasons), as much as some of his others. However I'm still playing it and glad others and the press are loving it and spreading his version of the message. At least so far. HA!

I'm impressed with the creative ideas Adam has for his videos...wasn't he the one with the idea for BTIKM?
He is a very, very creative soul, our Adam...no wonder he gets bored easily...so much happening inside that pretty head.

I haven"t had a chance to comment on New Eyes yet. I have to say I absolutely love it. I love the sexy bluesy vibe. I found it running through my head all day at work. I think the video is genius because it keeps you talking and wondering and trying to analyze what it means. I really enjoyed Adam's twitter party. What I found so interesting is when he said he was actively taking the pressure off himself and he didn't want want music to be a competitive sport. For me that took off some pressure as well. I'm not going to worry about sales and chart positions and radio adds etc. I'm just going to enjoy the music and see what all unfolds. The doesn't mean I won't stream etc. I'm just not going to worry about success.

After reading through all the pages of discussion about the music video, and the tidbits Adam gave us in his twitter party, I watched it again today and can see all of the references mentioned much more clearly, thanks ya'll! I enjoyed the video so much more than I did at first watch. For me, the people were so different than what is usually found in music videos in that they were average looking people, didn't look like models or anything. Many things confused me at first. I'm enjoying it so much more now, can't wait for Part 2!
And especially can't wait to hear how Adam performs this live!
