Someone referenced Jim Morrison as having a similar hairstyle. I thought that, too. I cannot imagine Adam keeping that style for the stadium/arena tour with Queen. Impossible to keep up with. We shall see. I also think it was a bit like Jim Morrison -- more like the 60's than 70's.
Since he toured with QAL in that bright red mohawk (or whatever it should be called), I think anything is possible.
But it'll be in the summer and it'll be HOT under those lights with hair on your neck.. sweaty.. hair gets stringy looking.. will be interesting to see what he does for the tour!

Dressed elegantly in a velvet suit and the world’s widest bell bottoms (Gucci-style), Lambert — in a pretaped performance — effortlessly delivered a cool, nuanced performance of “New Eyes,” the sexy, soulful, classic rock-flavored track from his forthcoming album, “Velvet.” In an inspired artistic move, Lambert chose an all-female backing band of first-class musicians — including drummer Taylor Gordon, guitarist Angie Swan (who also performs with Talking Heads frontman David Byrne) and bassist Satarra — to flesh out the arrangement.

Couldn't watch live as my basketball team was on at the same time playing a horrid double overtime more that they thankfully ended up winning. Just finished catching up on Adam's performances here. I hate it that in a 3 hour show they still couldn't find more time for a longer cut of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and chopped it up real good. But both singers did great, Dimitrid has an interesting voice and pulled his parts off. Adam was amazing, He was born to sing the Queen songs and I cannot wait for the tour. And what really gave me the feels was the big hug D gave Adam at the end. Helps you realize Adam is a hero/Idol to so many up and comers now. Now, lord help me, I just cannot warm up to "New Eyes" and everything that comes with it. I don't really actively dislike it, I just find it extremely underwhelming, and, don't know what the right word is, low effort? Not a fan of that look either, I just couldn't help but think that between the hair and the getup, he kind of looked old and tired and I never thought that of any of his previous looks. Sorry! Think I might go straight to Glamberts hell for this. You are entitled to your opinion about Adam. The only thing I'm going to fight you on is this...GO BUCKS!!! I'm a Milwaukee gal. I'm with you, gypsyladee, as a Milwaukeean up until 28. Saw Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) back in 1971. Somehow, I'm really into the 70s tonite. Can't imagine why.

Also this: If the show is looking to shake up the panel of mentors and coaches, it’s clear after his unofficial dominance with multiple appearances this season that the season 8 runner-up turned Queen frontman would be a no-brainer for a permanent role. “New Eyes” is the follow-up to the release of his February track, “Feel Something,” which served as an introduction to the next chapter in Lambert’s career. He is set to appear on the “Good Morning America” concert series on June 28. He will hit the road on the Queen + Adam Lambert tour July 10.

Idol's ratings are not impressive any more but it does get a lot of press coverage and social media mentions.
I was unimpressed by the three finalists but actually liked some of the other contestants.

I think he'll keep it for a while, maybe get it even longer. Personally, I love it! I waited for nine years for this glorious long hair... now I want equal time! I second your devotion
