Entertainment Focus @ent_Focus Adam Lambert teases new album Velvet in Hunger Magazine bit.ly/2Ht6AvO via @entfocusmusic Adam Lambert has been speaking to Hunger Magazine about his upcoming fourth album Velvet. The singer debuted the album’s first single New Eyes earlier this month, the follow-up to buzz track Feel Something, which will also be included on Velvet. Discussing Velvet Lambert says: “I look back on the last 10 years and in the past I’ve been confident but a lot more apprehensive when bringing out an album, but this time I’m just relieved and really calm about it. I believe in the music so much, I feel like I’ve followed my instincts and my intuition more than I ever have. Overall the album has more of an organic feel and you can hear all the instruments in it – I wanted to get on stage with a four-piece band and play. It’s not dependent on computerised sounds, there’s a lot more instruments going on.” New Eyes marks a change in sound for Lambert and he performed the track for the first time on American Idol at the weekend. Opening up about the song he says: “The first song is called New Eyes; I have a lot of different moods and energies in the album all living in this Velvet world. I chose this song because of the message and the mood – it’s a romantic song about needing someone who you are so inspired by you see the whole world differently through their eyes.” During the interview Lambert also discusses his personal journey. “I was lucky enough to grow up in a really open family; they were really supportive of me when I came out at 18. Then I moved to LA and I became an adult and had my share of relationships and adventures and over the next ten years I had my own personal journey of identity and relationships. By the time I became a public figure I had already had 10 years to decide the man I wanted to be.” Read the full interview at bit.ly/30AvzFatwitter.com/entfocusmusic/status/1130892033453973505

Yeah, it really distracted from a good interview article. I actually was an editor for 13 years (for environmental engineering companies - boring!), and I can't stop myself from editing everything in my brain! And you see it everywhere, even in articles and op-ed pieces in mainstream media like the NYT. Just yesterday I saw "soft-pedaled" (didn't pedal your bike very hard?) instead of "soft-peddled" (didn't sell your point very well). And then there's rein/reign, effect/affect, etc. etc. Aaargh! To bring it back to Adam - I like that he's so well spoken so that I can listen to him without my brain going haywire, haha!
I would suggest watching Weird Al's "Word Crimes" music video in case you haven't done so yet... I LOVE that music video, thanks Kryptoman68!!!! I'm always appalled at the grammar, punctuation and spelling mistakes in print these days.

petrajo . Love Saara Alto...especially because she seems so genuinely to love and admire Adam. She has a similarly open and winning personality. She did the latest Dancing on Ice here and was very popular with voters. Adam’s duet partners always seem to love him! bamafan . You’re welcome. Yeah! I know Saara has been a fan of Adam for a long time. She even went to see his solo gig, Tresspassing tour, I think. I see so much similarities in those two, in their careers and personalities, as you said. They both performed also in Wicked! Saara told in her concert also that her mom taught her to love Queen at a very young age. I also have heard that she sang BR at Sibelius academy many many years ago, when she did her masters in music. 💕 I really do adore and admire Saara, as you can see. 😅

I went to see Saara Aalto’s acoustic gig on sunday in Helsinki. She’s awesome! She sang two Queen songs: Love of my life and STL. Propably, because she got the lead role of We will rock you -musical here in Finland, which is taking place in 2020. Saara mentioned Adam at least three times at her gig. She adores him. She told about the XFactor performance and someone asked who’s her Idol (this was an interactive gig) and she said Adam. 💕 Thanks for the info. Saara is such a sweet person and a great singer. And it's always nice to hear other artists appreciate Adam. My pleasure. It was so lovely to hear. 💕

Thanks SophieB ! Now I won't have to hit Bold to make the name pop...I'll just add the @. On my computer it shows up in bright gold...lol. I think I've still got the Trespassing background that Q3 put up on 2012. Maybe if she puts up one for Velvet...I'll upgrade. There are a lot of grannies on this board that appreciate all the help and tips we can get. :D I love this little emoji...it's so me most of the time...lol I forget about those backgrounds. I should make one for Velvet! I will add it to my list! This '70's style is fun.
You might wish to stitch to the default.
You can customize the look of Adamtopia in your profile. I prefer the plain, white default. But there are many choices.
Go to Profile and click on Edit Profile.
It will take you to Edit Profile & Settings. Select the Settings tab and scroll down to Forum Theme. You can change your preference there.
Caution: These were built in 2012 so that some do not work that well with the upgraded Proboards we are now on.

After they mentioned Madonna's Eurovision performance during the Adam interview I got curious and went to YouTube. The broadcast video is terrible, but it has been autotuned a bit. If you play an audience recorded YT it is even worse. Then, listen to the "official" recording on the Madonna channel. Sounds Great! They totally fixed or overdubbed the vocals. Fake singing!
Why do I post about this? One of the videos I watched was a vocal coach who talked about what went wrong with Madonna's performance. In analyzing it, she talks about the importance of solid technique, mental focus, and singing live in different venues with different demands on the singer's attention. It explains how really extraordinary Adam's performances are (we knew that already, but, tho she doesn't refer to Adam, we can see how he does all this difficult stuff perfectly).
So, if you have about 20 minutes to spend and are interested in the hard work and technique behind a singer's successful or not successful performance, check it out.
