WHY ‘ROCKETMAN’ WILL BE LUCKY TO MAKE HALF OF WHAT ‘BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY’ DID The biggest hurdle for the John story is its R rating, imposed as a result of several creative decisions including a gay sex scene. The most successful R-rated movie of all time is 2004’s The Passion of the Christ, which took $612 million at the box office globally – which is indeed more than half of the PG-13-rated Bohemian Rhapsody’s $903 million. Yet even in the era of superhero blockbusters, 2016’s Deadpool could manage only $783 million with its R rating, and its sequel made $785 million. Another consideration is the fact that Bohemian Rhapsody did most of its business – $867 million – outside the U.S. due to the scale of personal following attached to Mercury during his life and afterward. While John is doubtless a world-class star, it’s difficult to gauge whether he has the kind of rabid fan base Mercury retains. While Brian May and Roger Taylor have kept Queen in the limelight, they’ve also managed the band business well. For example, their catalog has been financially successful for many years – their material is among the most frequently used in advertising campaigns – and they’ve also spent the past decade building a wider audience with the help of singer Adam Lambert. It’s been some time since John has secured mainstream attention the way Queen + Adam Lambert have done in recent years.ultimateclassicrock.com/rocketman-bohemian-rhapsody-movies/

Yes! Welcome to suzysuzyqt79! The more the merrier! This is a GREAT site!
Just read the article about Rocketman vs BoRhap. We all knew the comparisons would be starting to emerge. It will be interesting. RM is r-rated, so that in itself keeps many viewers from watching it in the theater. Other factors play into also. I do love Elton John and his music. Always have. I'm sure many many reviewers will have a field day after RM hits the screens.
Still drooling over Adam's "green" photo. There's a spot over my fireplace mantel that's perfect for that masterpiece.

Love both pictures, but the portrait above is stunning, yes it certainly has shades of a Rembrandt painting . I really love this pic, and no wonder it reminds you of a Rembrandt painting, because the lighting set of the photographer is called Rembrandt technique. It is a dark setting where you try to create an inverted triangle of light under the eye of the otherwise dark side of the face, just like Rembrandt did in a lot of his paintings 😀

June 10th: BUILD interview - 3 pm BST - London, UK Annecy Playmobil premier - 7 pm BST (8 pm local) - Annecy, France i know Lino said “all cast”... I don’t see it happening... what am i missing? There's nothing on the Annecy site saying cast members will appear, it only talks specifically about Lino for two events, the premieire on the 10th, which is an invite only event) and a signing on the 11th. Adam could make the 11th. An older article says no red carpet or Paparazzi at this film festival.

Lol bamafan — I think I should embroider a sampler (if I knew how to embroider which I don't) that says 'Bama thinks I'm Brilliant', frame it and put it on my wall. Then when my mind goes I will still be constantly encouraged and reminded of my glory days, except of course, I will wonder who the hell Bama is ... So this isn't just a Mutual Admiration Society post (remember that song), I want to join the admiration chorus of Adam's latest photos. That portrait is sublime and encompasses one of my many favorite renderings of Adam. When his face is slightly blurred, you are left with features whose beautiful lines - the sweep of the brow, the arch of the nose, the curl of the lip, and the sharp curve of the jaw - are so unique and identifiable. I think that when I dream of Adam, it is the sweep of those four lines.

She's pretty much the only person I react to like that...it's really weird. I should have probably added this to my post ... (I am rather "neutral" to her as of late. I do like her playlist though, with one song that stands out to me . No kidding)

I think that when I dream of Adam, it is the sweep of those four lines. If I could embroider, I'd make you a sampler. I agree about the four lines. In that latest "Rembrandt" pic.....the bridge of the nose jumped out to me first thing. Thought of Nica. The lighting really draws your eyes to his nose here with the arc of light against the arch of the bridge. I've really grown to appreciate the nose over the past 10 years. It looked nice and "normal" to me during Idol. My attention went to the hair, outfits, eye makeup and of course the singing early on. During the Glam Nation tour I was fortunate enough to see it up close and personal. In my current avi pic....I took my own silver sharpie in hopes he'd sign my shirt and to do that he'd have to lean in really close. I remember thinking as he was approaching me....first thought....was his nose is so wide....it's much bigger and more prominent than I had ever noticed. (second thought was he's so much more delicate bone wise than I had thought from TV) My SIL who was with me said she thought the same thing......what a wide nose. Since then, the nose photographs differently in different light....always changing and as he has matured it has taken on a statuesque quality. I now really appreciate the nose. Ever since I saw the pic of Adam's grandfather.....I now understand the nose bridge. Now, as to the other three lines....... I think we could write volumes about those lips, jawline and brow.
