The interviewer here might have been slightly nervous as her partner didn't show up on time for work. EscorpioVelvet 🇬🇧 scorpiobert extra.ie/2019/06/07/entertainment/movies-tv/eamonn-holmes-this-morning-chaosBy the time he had arrived Ruth had conducted a successful solo interview with American Idol star-turned Queen frontman Adam Lambert. The singer is releasing new music after four years and chatted to the presenter about his single, his Oscar performance and touring with Queen.

In my opinion, New Eyes DOES have a strong hook that is repeated three times in the song. The melody has found its place in my head, and I hear it surfing around in there quite often. "You've got those new eyes, honey...Virgin like blue skies sunny...." and so on. I think it's a good hook. The song is slow and bluesy. But it's put together with the chorus (hook) and two separate verses tied in between. I'm not saying it's perfect for radio, but I do like the song.
lurleene's earlier post says, "Anything they want to play on the radio, gets played." That's it in a nutshell. The PDs decide. I think the song itself is not always a big consideration. I think the artist's "status" has a lot to do with it. There are plenty of mediocre songs that get played a lot. So there you go.
Adam is out there doing his best to charm the pants off everyone he meets. Everybody who meets him likes him. We all want Velvet to have singles that are played on the radio. Period. And yes, only God knows what "radio friendly" means.

This is a fantastic read. So cool to see what inspired Adam to be the artist and performer and person that he is right now. I think it is a must read for every Glambert!!!! I definitely made sure to comment on and retweet.

I pretty much consider "radio friendly" to be some mysterious concept that God only knows what it entails. Especially if you consider some of the crap that's actually playing on radio. I agree. We have been hearing for years that Adam has to have this or that type of song to get played a lot or at all. It just sounds like an excuse to me. If they want to play him on US radio, they will. You never know how well it will do unless it is released to radio and gets a chance. There are Adam songs I love that others don't. There are songs others love that I don't care about. But unless they get played, no one would know what will or will not click. They are all someone's opinions. There are so many diverse songs on the radio so no reason to think Adam is required to stick to some boring formula. Geez, what is the point of being a unique talent if you can't be a unique talent? Always needing to follow the crowd is depressing, imo. Especially when following the crowd does not seem to work that well either. I can't say for sure what will be a hit. I can say for sure, it will not be a hit if only fans hear it.
